Yotsuba needs her own thread. She's a big girl already.
It's an alright series, but a large step down from Azumanga Daioh.
>>41730Depends on your tastes.
>>41730I consider it a large step up. I think nostalgia is blinding you.
>>41732I do not have nostalgia for, Azumanga Daioh. It was just much funnier than Yotsuba is.
>>41733I think Azumanga Daioh was funnier, but Yotsuba is a better series.
>>41730>>41731>>41732>>41733>>41736You are now all imagining an Azumanga Daioh/Yotsuba&! crossover.
>>41736>Azumanga Daioh is funnier>Yotsuba! is better>Both are comediesWhat the hell are we judging comedies by if not how funny they are?
>>41738Because Yotsuba is also a rather touching slice-of-life bit which does a MAGNIFICENT job of capturing the wonder of discovery that comes with everything when you're that young.
>>41738Azumanga Daioh is ONLY funny. It's a standup bit with an ensemble cast. Yotsuba! is actually well done slice of life and can stand on its own as a series without making you bust a gut (which it does.)
>>41738Because two series can share the same genre and still have their worth quantified by more complicated factors than a binary one? Shocking, I know.
Azumanga is funnier because it's less decompressed. That decompression is what allows Yotsuba to be way cuter. Both are excellent series and there is no reason for there to be a pissing contest between them. That said: does anyone else find it insanely cute that Yotsuba has actually been getting gradually bigger as the series has gone on?
>>41746I wonder if he's going to progress the series to kindergarten or if she'll be 5 forever.
>>41747In my perfect world, it progresses to kindergarden and Sakaki is her teacher.
Yotsuba manages to make you care about the main character as if she were your own daughter. Each bit of scenery is an incredibly detailed work of art and the dialogue between characters manages to be funny while still feeling genuine; you could imagine real people having these conversations. Also have a link:http://azumakiyohiko.com/archives/2009/07/31_0032.php
I do not like Yotsuba because I do not like children, but it does have some other likable characters I guess. Shitstorming is still a needless activity.
>>41748But Sakaki is a veterinarian or a florist. It is Osaka who will be Yotsuba's kindergarten teacher!
I love Yotsuba. It makes me aspire to be awesome father. Also this: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/396301
>>41756I see you and raise you something else by the same guy.

Obligatory.

>>41859Where did you find this. I must see it.I DON'T KNOW WHERE NEW CHAPTERS ARE.
>>41862Speaking of which.
>>41876Thick eyebrows are cute.
>>41877Indeed!
>>41876:D :D :D :D :D
>>41859I did this every time they had one of these things up when I was a kid.
>>41876D'awwwwww...
>>41876Cool eye alignment Yotsuba.
this is proof they will one day meet
>>41940I seem to recall that this is not the first time Chiyo-chichi has appeared in Yotsuba&.
>>41956The first chapter of that was surprisingly good. It was downhill from there, though.
>>41956>>41960NO, I've been trying to forget this existed.
>>41967]Yotsuba/Yanda dump you say? SURE!
>>41975>>41969>>41972
THIS. IS. TURRABLE.
>This shit
>>41983>>41984I don't support the ship or anything, but I hardly find it upsetting. Then again, this is just shipping, it isn't gender-swapped pregnant cat-eared fanart like certain series I like attracts...
Yanda's waifu
>>41998It's the Age difference what Creeps me out.
>>42003It's no more than what, 15 years?
>>42003Eh, it didn't seem so bad when Hal was dating Arisia...
>>42008Hence why I used Hal.As that was also creepy.
>>42007That's a pretty big gap for a teenager.
>>42007How is that NOT a big gap?
This is a series I gave to my grandmother. And you know what? She likes it.I cannot say that about everything I read. Fact some stuff I read I'd be ashamed to even acknowledge I read in front of her. But this series? It's special. It doesn't matter who reads it. People seem to love it. And the only person who DIDN'T like it seemed to have an obsession with death and violence that was, to say the least, unhealthy. That says something about this book. When you make a work that can be enjoyed by practically any demographic. By any age and by any measure. It's amazing. It is just goddamn amazing.
No matter what chapter I read, no matter how many times I read it, I WILL smile the whole way through.
Oh my God...What's cuter than Yotsuba?Sleepy Yotsuba.
>>42019When he's 75 she'll be 60. I believe the "Law of Age Gap Creepiness" says that it's okay to date someone who is half your age plus seven years.
>>42027But RIGHT NOW she is FIVE.You don't ship CHILDREN. Especially not with someone 15 years older than them. It's CREEPY.You gonna try arguing that you can hook up with a five year old because when you're an old man and she's middle aged it won't be creepy anymore?
>>42028That's how they do it in India.
>>42028But in most of those pictures (the ones that are explicitly romantic) she's not 5 anymore.
>>42032>You gonna try arguing that you can hook up with a five year old because when you're a middle aged man and she's a teenager it won't be creepy anymore?
>>42033It's about a 15 year age difference right? That means when Yotsuba is 20 he'll be 35. That's not all that bad actually.
Jesus christ.Guys, guys. I know I said the first chapter of that particular doujin was good, but that doesn't make it a good pairing. The first chapter was good because it wasn't overtly romantic. It was just Yotsuba being teenaged Yotsuba and Yanda being a massive troll, as Yanda is wont to do. Yanda kissed her at the end, but then he ran off going 'lol i stole ur first kiss' like the troll he is, and so everything was fine.It was downhill from there because after that, it WAS overtly romantic, and it really strained at the confines of characterization. One big problem was that, yes, the age gap between them is just too large for regular romantic plotting. It does happen that middle-aged dudes to get it on with high school girls, but doing so in a realistic manner requires a very different form of writing, which really doesn't fit in with Yotsuba.AT THE SAME TIME, GUYS, shipping a teenager with a middle aged person is not at ALL the same as shipping a twenty-something with a five year old. Even if the age gap is the same, I think we can all agree that there is a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE between these. So stop trying to claim that people are trying to hook up Yotsuba as a five year old and Yanda. They're not. They're imagining a teenaged Yotsuba, how she would behave and imagining her interactions with an older Yanda, and shipping THOSE TWO based on that. Not the same thing. Trying to equate them is an obvious false equivalence. Stop doing that.TL;DR, this thread has taken a very sharp turn for the moronic, on every side. Everybody stop saying stupid shit and get back to posting cute Yotsuba shit.
>>42054CAN DO
>>42054Will Do!
>>42054>Yanda kissed her at the end, but then he ran off going 'lol i stole ur first kiss' like the troll he is, and so everything was fine. God I fucking love Yanda. Screw Yotsubanda, I ship ME with Yanda.
I've said it before, I'll probably say it again; Yanda is pretty much grown-up Calvin. And I have shipped Yotsuba and Calvin before.
Eldrad x Yanda. Dickshipping.
Ah, there's the Yotsuba thread!Hot off the presses:Chapter 68: Yotsuba and LiesRaw:http://rapidshare.com/files/403706632/Yotsubato_Chapter_68_raw.rar.htmlhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=YU0TP1W6Translated:http://rapidshare.com/files/403706382/Yotsubato_Chapter_68_English.rar.htmlhttp://www.megaupload.com/?d=24SK274T
I hope that one day, I can be as good a father as this man.
>>45265Hes a model father.
Hey! There's a new Yotsuba!http://wakachan.org/azu/res/210207.htmlEnglish:http://wakachan.org/azu/src/Yotsubato%20ch69%20English.rarRaw:http://wakachan.org/azu/src/Yotsubato%20ch69%20Raw.raroh Miura...
>>47168>That endingOh dear god.
>>47168>thereisnoreactionforwhati'mfeelingrightnow.jpg
There is a new Yotsuba! In this chapter, the girls dabble in the black arts.http://wakachan.org/azu/res/211028.html#211064
>>48893Miura's mom is so confused.
>>48893THE MIGHTY DANBO CANNOT DIE EVEN IF HE IS KILLED!
>>48894Indeed.
>>48894>>Miura's mom is so HOTFixed that for ya. Seriously, she's aiming to displace Koiwai as most attractive parent in this series.
...Can we talk about Koiwai/Fuuka then?
>>49161Sure, if you want to. Personally I think it's adorable.
>>49161Not a fan, myself. I can dig her crushing on him, but him reciprocating in any way feels weird to me.
>>49164Well, there's the age disparity.
>>49161*~* The BEST ship!
>>49164>>49169Wasn't the legal age of consent in Japan 16? Wouldn't that mean both of them are consenting adults capable of having and subsequently acting on feelings for each other, possibly even pursuing a mature relationship?
>>49172Varies depending on prefecture. The national age of consent is actually thirteen..
>>49172Man, whatever, she's still sixteen, and Koiwai is way too cool a dude to be tapping teenaged ass.
>>49181The age discrepancy thing is less of a cultural issue in Japan (to the country's detriment on occasion) and I think his portrayal in Pretty Neighbour was pretty accurate to the source and if I imagined him in any sexual situation it'd be like that.
How old is Koiwai anyway?
>>49184It's implied he's gone to high school (at least) and he has work as a translator. I'd say he's at least mid to late twenties. Early thirties would be pushing it.
>>49183>Pretty Neighbor
>>49186By the way, the creator got hired on as Azuma's assistant, apparently BECAUSE Azuma read Pretty Neighbor online.
>>49187That's turrifying.
>>49186If you're talking about the Ena arcs then yea I agree...
>>49189Should've ended in lesbians. I was so disappoint.
>>49189Man, I was pissed even about Asagi! I just wanted nothing but pages and pages of Fuuka and Koiwai, god dammit! D:
>>49210Everything of Fuuka's belongs to Asagi. Besides, there was that hilarious one with the bathroom window in the last one.
