So is it just a matter of waiting before they release the dvd's and will they come with english subtitles? I'd so buy them cause I love Eva so much! ><
Bookmarked~Now two fucking months god dammit.

Franco-phones I have a mission for you, should you choose to accept it: Can you find out if the Wakfu heroes (ie: the imminent corbeau noir comic) will be published in English also? I want to order a couple of things from the ankama shop, but I'm waiting until I know whether I can get a translated version of that comic.
>>24572Learn 2 "last fifty posts".
So, uh, yeah. ZONE is doing a Wakfu flash. Check more info on his thread on /pco/.

i am bored with waiting so i wanted to try Wakfu guardians (I keep reading gardens or gardeners , lol) but something is wrong with my browsers (IE and FF ), the characters don't load at all. i tried updating my flash player but this did not help.advices?
>>24586boy or girl in the picture?
>>24586This is a well known bug. First, try to clear your browser's cache, then launch the game and wait a few minutes (some people get the characters back after a few minutes)If it still doesn't work, try this :1) go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html2) download this file : Flash Player 10 (debugger versions) (141 MB)3) in the archive, open directly the following file (without extracting the archive) : fp10_debug_archive/10r32_18/flashplayer10r32_18_win_debug.exeHaven't tested it myself, but that's a temporary fix posted on the forums.

finally i know the secret of funny hats!long hair and dragon horns!which is weird cause osamodas dont hide their horns.maybe it's their wakfu storage?
>>24677Looks to me like it's just part of the hat...
>>24678Yeah, it's the hat. A hatless Eliatrope hasn't been seen yet, in game or cartoon form, and it's been mentioned Yugo will be the first one.
>>24677Dragon horns make sense actually, since Eliatropes come from dragon eggs. The Osamodas are beast people, like the Ecaflip and Pandawa, so I'm guessing that's why.
I'm pretty sure those "horns" have been seen to move independently of the res of the head in the case of Yugo.I could be wrong though...
>>24695They are used expressively in the animation. That was the case before Ankama even knew what was underneath. If they even do now.

So, episode 24 and the Nox special are gonna be shown this weekend... at the Ankama convention. That's the compensation for shoving the end of the series back to June. Too bad for the non-frenchies.
>>24824If they're showing it at the convention and calling it compensation, they're probably also going to release it on the site.
>>24825Nah, convention only, not actually the first time they do that. Web releases are timed with TV, not convention showings.
Any Frenchies got a video camera?
>>24832I'd rather not get my first glimpse of the series finale through a shaky camcorder. Some sort of eye-witness report on the convention and the finale's reception would probably be better.

>>24883oh, i thought you were in mainland france and couldn't afford a train/bus ride to paris :(
>>24889I live in France, near the Swiss border and I've calculated that the cheapest way for me to go there and see these episodes was around 150 $.That includes train ticket, entrance to the convention and a cheap hotel room, since they air the episodes on sunday morning I have to be there on saturday evening. That's also assuming I have about 3 hours left to see anything else at the convention and I don't buy food there since everything is overpriced in Paris.Guess what ? between spending 150 $ now, and having them free in 6 weeks, I'll wait.
>>24896Also, I forgot to say that I can enjoy my week-end rather than spend most of it in a train / Parisian traffic jam / crowd of nerds ^^
>>24598Those look like hard subs to me. Since I speak french, it'd be nice if i could get soft/raw links please, subtitles are annoying.
if anyone is interested , Ankama announced yet another game they-will-never-finish-right , a hack'n'slash known as Slage, of course the setting is world of twelve, and it looks alot like Japanese Torchlight.
>>24911 A hack n slash game I'm actually interested in. I may just try this out.Wish they'd finish Wakfu DS first, though.
>>24896Well yeah, if it's only for 3 hours. I guess it takes a certain mentality to enjoy conventions. We don't blame you, bro. We're just jealous.
>>24911Another game, geez. I'm not sure that I could play hack and slash after the boredom that was diablo 2.
Hey.Hey guys.Look what just showed up at the store.
>>24941And while I'm pimping things out, my copy of Corbeau Noir turned up this morning. The art is very good, the story is nice and Kabrok has the best pair of slippers in the world. There's some additional stuff a the back of the book including excerpts from Kabrok's photo album and a mockup newsprint with the usual gossip but mentions an interesting thing about a prince I've not seen in the series having the hotpants for Amalia. The biggest surprise was the book being hardback which is something I wasn't expecting from Ankama for some reason. Overall the quality is worth the price, would heartily recommend to anyone interested in it.
You cannot fathom the tears of joy I am crying now.
>>24911Is it my imagination, or are Ankama really stretching their development teams thin with this many projects? The last few episodes of Wakfu have already been delayed by time overruns. If they concentrated a lot of people into fewer projects, wouldn't it get them released a lot quicker? Or doesn't Ankama work that way?
>>24944As far as I can tell, Ankama's habit of doing too many things at once has been instituted since the very beginning. It seems like everybody associated with the company is doing at least three things at once.
>>24943I'm thinking around the tears of joy from this tofu.
>>24941Couldn't see anywhere where it would have English subtitles. Oh well, waiting game it is.
>>24942Hardback is pretty much the standard in France for comic books.Things that are softcover :- Mangas- US comix in monthly format (complete stories are hardcover too)>>24944Well, not exactly. While it's true for some of their employees to work on several projects at the same time, they still have one main project they are assigned to, and to which they dedicate most of their time. Also, sometimes, you have to coordonate with other teams' schedule which might prevent you to go much further on your main poject, leaving you some time for other projects.Overall, the gain would be minimal if they were assigned to one single project full time.
the delay is because of marketing and broadcasting rights, not Ankama's fault. The presence of DVD's proves that the series has been finished for a while, and they already have a stockpile ready to hit the shelvesAlso, in the /promotions/, some guy is doing an eva flash loop. It's her & rubidoll, not sure how you guys feel about thorny vines inside our gorgeous elf ;_;
>>24970Nothing we haven't seen before.
this just in..dofus reached 3 000 000 players. (500 000 are spambots iirc).
>>24978*30 000 000my mistake. whoops.
>>24992Yeah okay several million over the population of Australia, that's fairly significant.
3.000.000 was correct in the first place, but I think that includes thos who remain in the free-trial area of Dofus, as well as, as you mentioned, the spambots
>>25000It's not a trial area. The game is free to play; you can just subscribe to get extra stuff.
>>25006I'd call not being able to interact with anything outside a certain point on free play a trial-like situation.
>>25006Definitely wrong, that's a mistake a lot of people do because the trial area is very generous. But the economic model of Dofus is officially a monthly subscription for the full game with no restriction.I played for two years since the release, and kept contact with the community afterwards. And from day one to this day, it has always been a monthly subscription. If I remember well, there was even no free area when the game was released, it only came much later. If you go to the main website, they clearly acknowledge there's a subscription and a free TRIA with limited features. Not like those other games that claims they are free but don't tell you most of the good stuff must be bought with real money.
>>25020Damn....Wait, what about Wakfu? Is that only going to be free until the beta ends?
>>25021Dofus was free during the betas, and so is Wakfu (though it's in closed beta for now, but it had some open beta phases and will probably have others before the release). The economic model of Wakfu will be like Dofus : small monthly subscription. Dofus is 5 euros a month on average (varying depending on which type of payment you use and how much time you buy at once). Wakfu should be about the same magnitude. The only thing we don't know yet is if there will be a free trial and what you will have access to with it.
They have a contest going right now: design a set. No stats, just items with cool descriptions. The last time they had a contest they opened access to all who entered into the contest. So if anyone wants to try, i am certain you can get in. Brotip: sevamor has the most english players.
someone told me that in the current beta, mobs do not respawn by themselves, and you have to "plant" them in the ground, just like actual ... plants. Now I'm confused, how does this work ?
>>25026Well, this is how you proceed :1) One of the professions in the game allow you to collect resources on mobs (woll, feathers, hairs, etc ...) but also their "seeds" (1st pic, and YES, the animation looks like she's giving him a handjob)2) Use the "seeds" and aim a square on the ground where you want to "plant" a pack of mobs (2nd pic, also, the icon for the "sseds" totally looks like what you think)3) Plant the seeds and wait 5 to 10 minutes 'till the mobs pop out of the ground (literally, 3rd pic)4) ????5) PROFITSYes, the game designers at Ankama have twisted minds. However, last I checked, this is only a temporary game design until they implement a proper mob-breeding mechanic. Also, mobs who have distinct gender appearances (tofus, gobbals and arachnees) sometimes have mating animation (bouncing joyfully on each other, literally, it's pretty cute).>>25025Hey, I have characters on Sevamore too. Unfortuntely, I have no time to play for now :/
>>25028It's not quite as suggestive as Frenchy said, the angle is deceiving. The animation is just rubbing the ground next to the animal. But the hump animation is there. I will try to take a screen shot when it happends. Also, if you decide to find me in Seva, I go by Doomguy and RailgunNo, originality is not my strongpoint
>>25042Maybe I exxagerated a bit, but keep in mind that the target audience is younger than most MMOs and it is still more suggestive than anything you may find in most MMOs ^^
I think i ran out of wakfu activities to do. i beat all episodes of Wakfu Les Gardiens including christmas one, not sure what to do now...

>>25065If the increase in video quality for a series you enjoy is that important to you then twenty euros would be money well spent.Personally, I'm waiting for the english version although I may cave in early depending on how long that'll take Ankama.
>>25066Might take a while, since I doubt there will be an english version (subbed or dubbed) before an english TV channel buys and broadcast the show in english.
In the summer of 2010, Wakfu the TV series will be broadcast for the first time in Germany, exclusively on RTL 2. well winrar! ^^ freu mich schon.

Und das wird man wohl hören.Wenn ich da an Amalias köstliche Anfälle denke (z.B. >>25185>>25187>>25185>>25184>>25183Okay, addressing various things:-Book was ordered on 20/04/10, Delivered in South Australia 26/04/10. That's with the Volcano too, so maybe it would be quicker otherwise.-Thanks Frenchy.- The content of this comic is something like 89 pages, hardcover. I started scanning yesterday but shit is going to take time, and I'm a busy guy. The quality of the book is high. Surprisingly high. Art is good, don't know about the plot.-Two major reasons why I don't want to scan the artbooks (I actually have both). Firstly, they're flimsy as fuck. Ankama pack their deliveries well, so there's minimal risk of damage that way, but I'd never submit the artbooks to a scanner. Secondly: I promoted the wakfu translation project on 4chan a lot. Pirating is always going to be morally ambiguous, but where I sit is: "If it's for content that needs translation, it's okay". Buying the artbooks is one of the few ways I have of supporting Ankama and given that it's in English I encourage you all to do the same. I will tell you this though: The official translated version of "Pinpin" is "Dally"."Dally". Christ.
How does Sadlygrove become "Dally"Sadallygrove?
>>25200Remember his other names? "Percidal"
>>25201That's not another possible translation, that's his surname. 'Tristepin Percedal'.
>>25202There's no reason they still can't address him as Percedal... sounds better than Sadlygrove imho, but I'm just another purist.
>>25202Irrelevant. "Pinpin" gets translated directly to "Dally" and Percedal makes it into the English translation.
>>25199words can not express how hard i facepalmedor how hard i lold
I might get the artbook then, if it's in english as well as french. I asked for scans because it seemed weird to buy a book i couldn't read.Look forward to seeing the translated comic.

This guy's scanning a pretty large graphic for nothing and the first feedback he gets is you telling him it's crap? Go buy the comic and scan it yourself if you're so damn great.
If you feel like doing it, I can send you the script. Not that I don't want to do it, but as I have little spare time, it will be slow and done with MSpaint ( in 134354 hours ;) )
>>25283also, "file not aviable" :(can you reuploadit please ? (maybe on mediafire)
>>25288I thought that was regular 4chan.
>>25283oh you ...you HAD to pause the scans right when things turned interesting right ?clever tease ....
>>25286 The guy who did the "offmodel = death" crap wasn't me. I'm only being honest here. Like I said: I'm glad that the guy scanned (part of) the book, but that doesn't change the fact that the scans look like crap. Plus they are incomplete. There's no going around this fact, so there's no point in defending the scanner either. Otherwise we will fall onto a slippery slope, and we will end up at a point where we suck it up for every asshole who provides with the most minimal, most shitty content, and anybody who points this out can get the fuck out. Personally, I'd rather come off as a rude jackass, than to be a brown-noser, or just dishonest in general.Criticism is still criticism even if it's cynical.>Go buy the comic and scan it yourself if you're so damn great.I gave a lot of thoughts about buying this. But if I decide to buy books, that I can't read, for the sole reason to scan them in hopes of a future translation, then I'd rather start with Melusine or Gotlib.
Buy the books and support the people who made it. The job of scanlators isn't to deliver you copyrighted art for free. High-quality scans of the comic freely available online would ruin the point of Ankama selling it.Scanlations are to let you know what's going on, not to give you a production-quality translation gratis. As long as you can discern what's happening on each page, the scans are just perfect.
>>25293>>25294>>25286Oh you kids. Before this drama unfolds any further:- I'm not Captain Scanner McScan of the starship Scannicus. The scans are going to be low quality no matter what happens, but having said that, I'll try to improve things a bit, only because I want to know that this scanner is capable of better.- Never ever 'white knight'. If someone stops work on something because of what someone else said to them on the internet, they're just looking for an excuse to be unproductive, consciously or not.>>25288I'll do that now.
>>25288http://www.mediafire.com/?vnzrgme2ddaDone. By all means upload the script to your choice of file sharing program and I'll work on it. That way if a motivated individual doesn't like the job I do they can always play around with it themselves.

Why is it so derpy to find Wakfu wallpaper. All I keep finding is Dofus wallpaper. Dofus ain't bad, but I want that kickass show wallpaper.
>>25301I second that.
http://www.dofus.com/en/frigost/medias-frigostyeah , it's not much wakfu related... but i see very alot of animation rehashes......wtf happy ending?
>>25307That looks pretty neat. I don't play Dofus though so... what is it? Are they making another animation or is it just a preview for something in the game?
>>25307>...wtf happy ending?seeing how the narrator speaks about Jiva, and how enthusiast he is about the disasters, he's obviously biased and on the bad guys' side. "happy end" makes sense for him

>>25317>"Whatever your names are, let me tell you I've had it up to my posterior*">Anyone has an idea about an expression meaning "I'm fed up with you", with an "ass" connotation, but still keeping semi-polite phrasing?"get off my ass"? "stop riding my ass"? Not particularly polite. Maybe, "Whatever your names are, let's get to the 'bottom' of this"?Argh, sounds weird.
>>25337>"Whatever your names are, let's get to the 'bottom' of this"? That sounds right to me. "Get to the bottom of this" is a pretty common phrase. What's the context?
>>25334 Early June. The 5th I believe.Despair with the rest of us.
>>25348Context: Kabrok and Miranda are being harassed by highwaymen while crossing a bridge. The thugs have silly butt-pun names like Butt-ache and Anus-ache. Miranda has just called Anus-ache's demands 'insane' and another member of the ass gang has jumped up from underneath the bridge to threaten them.In this page Kabrok has had enough (had it up to his 'posterior'/wants to get to 'bottom' of this/???). *cue battle music**I've already edited the script a little for that page. Frenchy Anon's original script is:P26:- I guess your name is Assache, Bumache, Ringache or Sphincterache ?- How vulgar. I'm a woman, in case you didn't notice...- My name's Patchouch.- Whatever your names are, let me tell you I've had it up to my posterior*- It's time we have a serious discussion.- Be careful, by all means.- No worries, I never do anythig without weighing up risks.- How fortunate...- Chattering with merchants...- That's our favourite sport !**I wonder if 'Patchouch' should be something like 'Patootie' to keep with the ass-pun theme. The French name was 'Ouillapastille'.
>>25353Ouillealapastille was a bit far-stretched, even in french. "Ouille" is "ouch" no problem, but "pastille" means something like "spot" or "small disc/patch". "pastilla" might work also but to my understanding, in english, it was more related to pills/lozenge (or am I wrong ?). Any suggestion ?>>25337a variation of "get off my ass" might work. The typical expression in french is "j'en ai plein le cul" (literally , something like "my ass is fed up with your shenanigans"). But then, Kabrok being a gentleman in front of a lady, he changes the original expression and uses "posterieur (bottom)" instead of "cul (ass)" (yeah, I checked and I was wrong with "posterior", doesn't work in that context). So, would "get off my bottom" be okay ? otherwise, let's fo for "get to the 'bottom' of this", but it's a bit less accurate to what he intended to say originally.I'm a bit busy right now, but I'll try to work on the second part tonight.
>>25362>in english, it was more related to pills/lozenge (or am I wrong ?). Any suggestion ? Given the potty humour theme would something like a laxative be more appropriate? Or did Ouillapastille not have any crass connotations?
>>25363The 'pastille' in this context refers to the anus in French slang. So 'Ouillapastille' means literally 'Ouchtheanus'.What we need here is an 'imagery' word meaning anus.

>>25497I don't have an add-on for that. I am sorry, but someone else has to get on it.

One fair warning - Grovy's voice... Well, you'll have to find out for yourself. Just... Make sure you're sitting down stably at the end of the episode.
It's pretty darn generic, this dub. Makes me think it must be the UK aired version.
I'm almost completely sure that I've seen this before. I recognize the voices; it's the dummy dub, not the real thing. Not to mention that it's not on serie.wakfu.com. Ankama's been advertising that English episodes 1 and 2 are going to be diffused "soon" on the website for at least six months (probably much longer), so once they're produced I don't think that they would hesitate to release them to garner international interest.
>>25498Nox voice wasn't really that bad, just not as brilliantly perfect as it was in the original.
>>25504>Grovy's voiceI have never wanted something eradicated from my mind this much. And that's something considering 4chan and it's "glory".
It's because they're in Amakna that they have American accents... yeah that ri- FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
I don't speak french, so i can't grade the original voice acting beyond sound and emotion but that dub is awful. Some voices fit the characters but none of them act. It's like they're reading out a news report or something.

>>25520that wasn't supposed to be tags, wasn't sure if they worked on +4chan. Well, now I know ....
they turned Grovy into Kamina. I should have seen this coming from a mile away with a neon sign
>>25522>>25520Okay, so I went in knowing what you guys say you saw, and I have to say the implications are pretty heavily implied. However, I can't be the only person who saw the bit with Yugo using the eliacube. What possible reason could he have to do that, I wonder? The way I see things going down is Nox knowing he can't get the Dofus without giving some incentive, so he kills somebody (the only thing we have is 'not Amalia') and Yugo, stricken with grief, beats the shit out of him and uses the cube himself. There's another shot in the trailer of him holding the Dofus out, likely to Nox.
>>25524the way I saw it, it seemed he was holding the dofus to the cube (maybe to trigger the developpment of grougal's embryo)Also, the cube is an eliatrope artifact that grants immense power. Makes sense for an eliatrope to use it when facing a powerful foe.
Shit got real. I feel this will cause me to baww.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLST8d6EdLU&feature=relatedpossible villain for season 2?
>>25524that would actually make sense! Remember when libertyprime spun a tale about nox winning, time traveling and Yugo+gang following him? There could be an alternative...-Nox wins, someone dies-Yugo uses eliacube with Grougaloragran's power to time travel an hour back (or something)-Kick him in the clock
Hah, all the speculation is almost as entertaining as a new episode, gonna toss some of my own musings out to stir the potWhat I think will happen: We see the main party get battered and bruised but they all survive, a secondary character, Armand or the king maybe makes a heroic sacrifice. The cube recognizing that Nox is going to fail tries to consume him in a last bid to gain wakfu and he dies resisting it in a fulfillment of his role as a tragic villain. It's revealed the cube is a prison for an enormously powerful shushu that the Eliatropes constructed to keep it from directly possessing people, Yugo's role as the last Eliatrope was to resume their guardianship of it until they return from wherever it is they've gone, but with Nox's energy the demon manages to break free, albeit in a weakened state to flee and then return as the big bad of season 2. Less likely: Roughly the same as above but its one or more of the main characters that make the heroic sacrifice, still predicting cube as big bad of the second season.Least likely: Ankama trolls us all with a bad end, Nox kills most of the party but Yugo and Amalia manage to stop him and there is a suitably large explosion of wakfu/clock spider. Yugo wakes up in the wreckage and shellshocked over the death of his friends stumbles upon the cube. Cube is "just and planned" and takes advantage of his state to corrupt him in the same way it did Nox, "we can fix all this if only you feed me the wakfu I need to function". Yugo becomes big bad of season 2, Amalia survives to provide a tie to a new group of heroes and and provide tragic flashbacks of their friendship.
>>25532>armand or adamai diei'm ok with this. Armand should die like a bronot Grovy
My bet is on Armand.Typical douchebag that redeems himself in a glorious sacrifice.
>>25535 I don't think Amalia is that much connected to Armand, to go so crazy that she turns into a berzerk rape monster. Her dad would be a better candidate. But do keep in mind that the Wakfu trailers always pick the craziest looking frames from an episode, ones that could be taken out of context very easily. When one of the Grougaloragran trailers came out, it used frames from the part where Grovy blocked Grougals firebreath, and got demon arms in the process. We all thought that it meant that Grovy goes into an alternate form and proceeds kicking major asses - when it was a completely in-the-spur-of-things moment, a single action after which he pretty much collapsed.Do point I'm trying to make is that you can't make any kind of conclusions over the trailer, for all we know, everyone may survive (even Nox). Which is why I'm not worried over the fate of the cast. Not yet, anyway.
>>25517Pay attention dude. That dub was the DUMMY DUB. It's not the official one.As long as we're throwing out theories, I say that Eva and/or Pinpin die and then Yugo uses the Eliacube to revive them. If it can keep someone alive for 200 years why not bring people back to life?
My money is still on Ruel eating it. I could see Amalia beserking over that, she's a sensitive gal.
>>25542I couldn't, she's the most critical of Ruel, even if she was pissed that Armand threw him into prison.
Seeing anyone die would send them berserk. They are a close team.>>25540is right. Trailers are very deceiving. We got played. I got played. Sorry for baww'ing.
Of course the trailer is made to be dramatic, we still have the better part of a month to wait though and at least wild speculation gives us something to discuss.
Hey guys:English Tristepinhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-odEc_vi9wc#t=7m06smystery VAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqQSu9_zz2git's the only explanation. Either Barney the dinosaur or Little Kuriboh are doing his voice. You will not get this out of your head...
;_; I leave for the weekend and this happens...
>>25555Oh christ LOL
>>25555Will you PLEASE stop calling it 'English Sadlygrove'? It's a fucking placeholder voice. Every single voice in this 'English dub of episode 1' is a fucking placeholder.
>>25592Wakfu fans: At breaking point.
Eba and Groovy bites it, plus4chan dies of sadness
someone noticed something interesting on the french Wakfu forums ...These dots also appear on Grovy's and Ruel's forehads when Eva understands who's behind her trippin' dream (ep 20)
i think i figured out a villain for "The Returns " episode. It is a mad treechnid/sadida tree thing , i wonder who's behind this...
So, why do YOU (yes, YOU) like Wakfu so much?
>>25592Calm down. I was simply pointing out a resemblance between a wildly unpopular VA and a very popular one in a completely different field.>>25599Because i am a hopeless hikikomori who can't get enough of an engaging, foreign fantasy setting with beautiful girls?
>>25600Looks like Amalia and Eva fused together ^^
I don't have... much of a problem with the placeholder VA for grovy, he just needs to be a more loud and energetic in my opinion
I see a lot of people who are dissatisfied with the English dub. So I was beginning to wonder, what sort of voices would you like to hear for the characters on the English dub? I'll try to get my VA friends to do a version the way you want it to be.For the script though, I'm thinking of whether following the sub's script or the dub's.
>>25616Use the sub script, but edit for flow. Also, are these in-person friends or internet friends? Because I wouldn't mind helping out if it wouldn't impede the process too horribly.
>>25617In person. But we'll also need a lot of help specially when it comes to the script, as all our writers are busy with their own projects right now, and for the characters that we won't be able to provide the right voice with.
Oh, so that was you on the 4chan thread 2 days ago? What can i say, best of luck. I would help in any way i can, but i don't know how much acting talent i have. I was in background for a while but meh.So yeah, voices and ideal VA's...Grougaloragran was allright. Imagine Liam Neeson talking in bass. Gentle, benevolent but stern and deep.Yugo was just fine in the dub. Any energetic, upbeat high-pitched voice will do. I hear women do good work as voices of young boys.Nox was way too warm and cuddly. He is almost literally a soul-eating robot. His voice needs to send chills down people's spines.Grovy(Dally)? I was thinking a chainsaw. Yeah, a chainsaw makes a better VA than Barney the DinosaurAnd as we all agreed, if you can get the girls to have french accents, that will be tits.Sorry for lack of examples. For all my weeaboo-ness, i don't know any VA's.
>>25624> I hear women do good work as voices of young boysYes, it's very common ..... so much that Yugo IS in fact voiced by a woman in the french version ( Fanny Bloc )
Most of the team during a live dub at Ankama Convention. From left to right :- Adeline Chetail (Amalia)- Geneviève Doang (Evangelyne)- Fanny Bloc (Yugo)- Dorothée Pousséo (Adamaï)- Thomas Guitard (Sadlygrove)
I wonder if they'll use for Pinpin - "Dally" like in the artbook, or "Sadly", which was used in the dub.
>>25624Yep, that was me. VA names aren't really necessary. Voice samples are just fine, too.I'm also thinking about the girls' VAs. They won't show up until the 2nd episode, so I'm thinking if we're gonna do it up to there. Right now we're trying to get a script for the 1st ep. If anyone has an srt file for the subs it'd really help us a lot.
>>25630The girls have, like 1 line each but they do appear in the 1st episode. Plus you need female VA for the secondary characters in the village
>>25628aww, no Ruel VA :(
You know it in your heart of hearts who we need for English Nox.Crispin Freeman.
>>25633Nope. Mark Hamill.
>>25631Didn't really notice that. But I don't think 1 line would be enough to justify the character's voice, specially when we'll need to see how well they work with the different emotions.>>25634This.
>>25634Shitsux.
>>25634 With Nox's voice changing from low, menacing calm to high, giggling mania all the time, i'd worry that it would just sound like Hamill doing his Joker voice.
>>25637I wouldn't worry, Hamil is a true pro.
>>25632>aww, no Ruel VA :(there he is, Patrick Béthune>>25628Also, Benjamin Pascal (voicing Nox and Vampyro) was there with the rest of the team that day, but was off camera field on that picture. A few other pics are aviable here, and two videos of them performing :http://mymotherland.over-blog.com/article-ankama-convention-5-48887326.html1st video : doing their VA as normal, except Dorothée (Adamai) doing Ruel's voice2nd video : Switching their roles on purpose
>>25637Which would basically be perfect when you think about it. Though his The Watcher voice might be better.
>>25645Add a filter to Hamil's Joker voice and Voila: Nox.Actually, though, needs less Joker laugh. Hamil!Joker has a habit of guffawing, cackling and doing this low laugh that seems almost like a growl. Nox seems to mostly giggle.
>>25646i just watchedHe is really good. He would work perfectly. If ankama can afford such a big-name VA
So imagine we had Disney's budget for an English dub (think Ghibli/Miyazaki films: Ponyo, Castle in the Sky, etc.)Let's pick a good but realistic cast for Wakfu. That means the actors must have done dubbing/voice acting before. We've already got Liam Neeson as Grougal and Mark Hamil for Nox.I'm not so good with girls but I'd be very interested in suggestions for Ruel. I think Ruel is one place the English dub could significantly improve upon. I don't mind Ruel's voice but he always sounds like he forgot what he had for breakfast. A little too "fake old guy" sounding for me.
>>25648Michael Caine for Ruel.Only one I can think of right now.
>>25648I see what you mean, yet I wouldn't have picked Castle in the Sky as a good example. The kids' VA was horrible and made them sound like 30 year old people.
Q: How to pick Wakfu english VAs?A: Think like M Night Shyamalan.
I want Ron Perlman. I don't care whose voice he does.
>>25555Even for placeholders, it's not bad. Grougaloragran still sounded pretty decent to me, but Nox had a Dick Dastardly thing going on for some reason.
>>25654Sorry, I totally mistyped that. I was actually thinking of Howl's Moving Castle. D'oh. I agree with you on the kids, Disney has a habit of picking crap for the kids voices. But the adults are almost always good.Oh oh Oh OH. Can we ban Steve Blum right here and now? Please? Unless he's Armand or something. >_>

Anyone still got a link to the torrent? Or any suggestions how can someone in turkey get wakfu?
>>25628>an Asian voices Evangelynesuddenly I want an Asian-French gf...
There's one thing you have to keep in mind though : Lots of actors, especially when voicing animated characters, change their voice to fit said character. Sometimes, it can change a lot (eg : when a woman is hired to voice a youg boy)So, someone whose natural voice may not fit a character might still be the best choice to voice that character once you bring in his ability to twist his/her voice.See this video where Fanny Bloc (3rd girl) shows both her natural voice and her "yugo" voicehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1R9dzZRiBU
>>25682The good news is : not hard to find one. Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam were french colonies until 1954 and have kept strong cultural bonds with France even after their independance. Vietnameses, especially, have a strong community settled all over France, and are very well integrated in the society.
>>25683i know, it's impossible to spot that kind of talent, unlesss you hire a team of scientists to clone Robin Williams and make him female...All we can do is point a finger to past performances and say "this would work"
>>25688Sure, it doesn't show you the right person for a given role. But it also mean you can't discard someone simply because his natural voice doesn't fit.All in all .... trust the guys in charge for the casting.
>>25691we've seen how well that used to work. thankfully the budgets are getting better and studios are understanding more about what audiences want to hear.
>>25697Worked pretty well for the original french VAWouldn't say it went bad for the english dub since it was obviously meant to be fast and cheap for "free promo sample" quality and not "high release quality"Not saying it couldn't go wrong either, but "experience" points towards positive things more than negative ones.
Posessed grovy: christian bale, batman voice
>>25705Are you kidding? Bale's Batman voice sounds like he badly needs a dozen cough drops.
>>25701You misunderstand me. I was referring to the quality of English voice dubbing in the past. Think pre-2000.
>>25707oh, my bad then, sorry
I just gonna throw out from the top of my head and say....Amalia could be voiced by Meagan Smith, the voice of Gwen from Ben 10 (the first series, not Alien Force). I'd say Grey Delise for Eva, but that feels like too default an answer for me.SAY, could Steve Blum do Nox? He's got a good crazy voice.
>>25681I just looked her up and... wow. She's absolutely perfect. (also I believe the torrent's now outdated, but it's probably on kickasstorrents)>>25711What has he done that's crazy? I looked him up on Youtube and got Guilamon and Vincent Valentine, neither of whom sound much like Nox.
I can imagine somebody as Morgan Freeman. The question is, who?
>>25714Alibert
>>25711seconded. I loved Gwen as a (no offense) uppity annoying bratAnd no, Blum can't beat Tim Curry. No offense to the guy, i almost nostialgia'd all over my monitor hearing guilmon voice, but he is not evil. Also, no luck on the torrent. Any help with that please?
>>25713>What has he done that's crazy? I looked him up on Youtube and got Guilamon and Vincent Valentine, neither of whom sound much like Nox.Orochimaru, for one. Also, Spectacular Spider-Man's Green Goblin.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uX1hCsm8-Y
>>25714Why not Grougaloragran?Actually, Grougal's French VA also lends his voice to Morgan Freeman in French dubbed movies.
http://www.ankama.com/fr/59-video-wakfu/3502-voix-wakfu-serieConsidering our line of discussion, quite an ironic broadcast from Ankama.
>>25723Wow. Okay, you know what? I stand corrected. I am not a big Blum fan but that video shows a different side. It seems like too often directors tell Blum to give the same 'voice' for every part.
So after Yugo found Dofus... what do you think happened to Ogrest before that?
>>25728Ouah, c'est trop cool! Is that really how they do the dubbing while they're in the studio?I love the teleprompter that stacks all of their lines; that seems like such a natural way to do it. I know that in a lot of American dubbing, it's done with the individual actors instead of altogether... that just seems so illogical to me.By the way, does anyone know if the English dub is going to be British or American?
>>25734Nothing much is known about the english dub. I'm not even sure anything is decided yet, besides the fact that there WILL be english dubs.About that : German TV RTL 2 will start airing Wakfu starting summer 2010.Next ? Spanish ? :p
>>25734yeah , dubbing is done moslty in studios, where actors barely even see each other , only movie i know where they didn't do that, was Fantastic Mr. Fox , and god bless for that , it sounded very natural.
>>25734Individual dubbing makes it easier for sound engineers to edit the voice recording in different tracks if needed. Also works for talents with different schedules. The batch dubbing is the old way of doing it. The problem there is that when someone makes a mistake, everyone has to do the same scene/segment all over again. It takes skill to work with a group without making a single mistake and make the whole process run smoothly. So if a voice actor can do a batch dubbing well, that means that he's a top notch VA.Nowadays even our sound engineers discourage us from dubbing as a group. Even if there are only 2 VAs in the studio, he'll still separate their tracks.
>Steve BlumAs much as I like his voice, Blum is terrible at sounding like anything but Steve Blum. The closest I've heard him come to "acting" is his work for Madworld.
>>25747...Did you ever stop to think that maybe that's because you don't recognize him? The guy has 359 roles.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0089710/Look through the list. You'll get quite a few surprises along the way. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uX1hCsm8-YAnd English Orochimaru, on the off chance that means anything to you.
>>25751 I'll be damned. I take back that comment.
This thread needs more pictures.
Looking pretty Sacrier there, Grovy
hey guys, thank jasongrovy dies, but not really
>>25763Told you.
>>25765The trailer is fucking convoluted. Analyzing it is depressing. And it's DESIGNED to do just that, to build tension. For starters Yugo does nothing most of it. For all we know he comes back and goes super saiyan. It could happened. Regardless, let's just say i made my will save. I disbelieve the entire trailer. The less I think about it, the more i can focus on other thingsBut I appreciate your input regardless. It's just me, I keep over-reacting to everything.
>>25766Just think of it this way. If anybody was going to die, since there's no way it isn't all voiced by now, then one of the voice actors would've mentioned something somewhere about not being on the payroll anymore. This would likely cause something of an uproar; without said fan response...
>>25770There are probably gag orders for that. But thanks for trying to cheer me up
By the way, if anyone is interested. I found the answer to "where wakfu babies come from"http://dofuswiki.wikia.com/wiki/Angels_%26_Demonsfaith shapes the bodies in the image of their gods
>>25794>One thing is sure. Here below (and the rules would be the same in the entire Universe), Faith conditions the pysical appearance of the beings. Indeed, the faith given by a soul to a divinity has an influence on it mortal coil. The latter tends to take up the features (both physical and behavioural) of the venerated divinity. What about blood relationships you may wonder? It's darned easy. If followers from different cults got married, they wouldn't have children in the biological sense of it. Their children would be akin to spiritual sons and saughters. A soul that would feel afinities with the values of the couple could decide to become their son or daughter. Please note: an incarnated sould could choose to be a disciple of a god OR wait a while and reflect on its real faith. In this second case, it would incarnate under a humanoid appearance and a child would be born! It would now be free to become a disciple or to remain an atheist. In the latter case, it would keep its humanoid appearance. A soul that decided to incarnate itself within a long lineage of Iop would embrace the Iopesque faith and would most certainly look like a young Iop.TLDR, worshipping a god renders you an incarnation of that god. If you don't worship anyone, you're human.
>>25801doesnt explain why some folks are pandas or cats.
>>25815And also why some people just look human?
>>25815>>25859What part of "You look like whatever god you worship, but you're human if you don't worship anyone" didn't cover that?
>>25815They are still in the image of their respective gods, Ecaflip or Pandawan.
>>25877But that's really stupid. Also doesn't explain why Yugo is still and Eliatrope knowing nothing of his heritage
>>25903Eliatropes are special (something you'd know if you watched the series and paid any attention at all) in that they can be born from a dragon's egg (alongside the actual dragon). That makes them an Eliatrope, regardless of what they know or don't know about their faith.
Guys, you're looking way too deep into it and searching explainations where there's none to have.I've followed the fluff from Dofus/Wakfu back from 2003 when Dofus was still in beta stage, and the reason behind the appearance of each class, and the fact that some people look like plain class-less humans, has never been thought initially, until people started questioning itThough the fact that each class was worshipping their respecive gods existed from the start, the fact that worshipping and appearance were cause and consequence was just a clumsy attempt at retconning pieces together and give an answer to the questions. But this "faith makes shape" thing doesn't work, and has many flaws, especially given the number of pictures showing kids or even newborn with the physical traits of their parents, long before they could worship anything. Also, in all the dofus and wakfu cross-media, there's no record of faith change that also changed the appearance of the person, except possibly Nox, but even then, his case can be explained without the faith=shape thing. The most solid explaination to all this (which was one of the first they gave before they pulled the faith=shape stuff out of their asses) is that appearance is determined by plain genetics, some people have fancy appearance, some are plain humans, people from one gene-pool also worship the same god, some people may worship a different god but this is very rare and has no effect on their appearance. Also, cross-breeding don't produce hybrids, and one of the parent's race takes precedence. This worked well, and I don't know why they felt the need to change for a less satisfying theory.Ankama produces professionnal-quality work nowadays, but don't forget they started as 3 amateurs, and made amateur's mistakes back then. Even if they have gained a lot of experience in making solid fluff, they are still building on the same base background and have to bear with its flaws (some of them could be fixed, this one can't). it's not like it's a big world-breaking deal anyway.I'm not blaming them though, because starting from a 3 bros project and making a successful multi media studio with 300 employees and now exporting their knowledge in about 7 years is still a big performance.
>>25906Faith Makes Shape works just fine. If you start normal, and begin following Xelor, it alters your DNA and physical structure. If you have a kid, that kid is half your DNA, so would of course share characteristics, especially if you mated with a Xelor. If that kid decided to follow Sadida instead, his appearance would change to suit.
From that same thing:>>If followers from different cults got married, they wouldn't have children in the biological sense of it. Their children would be akin to spiritual sons and daughters. A soul that would feel affinities with the values of the couple could decide to become their son or daughter.Infants 'inherit' their parents' faith. If their parents are inter-religious, they're born with the parent's faith who they have the strongest spiritual affinity with.Maybe they did pull it out of their asses, maybe they didn't, but regardless they're covering all of the bases.
This lore talk is making my head hurt
>>25904>(something you'd know if you watched the series and paid any attention at all)Whoa bro chill out,You'd think I insulted you Ecaflip cat god or something.Anyway I'm gonna choose to ignore this whole explanation. It makes sense for things like Xelor but honestly I think it's dumb.
Eh, we're probably still overthinking this but its entertaining. I think that the idea of worship effecting appearance can be made to work just fine with two clarifications. 1: Normal people represent the middle ground between all the other races with the potential to manifest all of their traits with none coming through distinctly until they take to a specific path. 2: Praying or partaking of ceremony is not the exclusive way to worship a deity, emulating them or following their tenants in a practical sense can count as "worship". Iop parents have a kid that takes after them being hotheaded and brash and consequently looks like them from day one. An Osamodas and an Ecaflip have a kid thats personality takes after one more than the other and ends up looking like that parent, or reverts back towards a middleground of traits and looks like normal person rather than a hybrid of the two parents. A Sadida turns to worshiping Cra, and rather than ending up a hybrid in between, over time has his Sadida features become less pronounced till he looks like a person and then starts growing pointy ears. Admittedly this still leaves the problem of why we don't see kind of sadida, or sort of cra looking people but that seems easier to write off for reasons of practicality and art design rather than being a hole in the setting.
>>25914Means you'd have to ignore the fact that Adamai is Yugo's brother.
>>25914it makes perfect sense, pic relatedOverall i like this explanation best. It reinforces the high fantasy whacky religions setting. And the reason you see so much heredity is because children usually follow the parent's traditions. They don't inherit faith same way as they inherit property. They just... bond to their family. That's why you have a fuckhuge village of only sadida in the middle of a forest: everyone acts the same and sees it as norm. No one wants to go dig shit up or stab people in the back.
>>25926Only if you promise never to needlessly use the spoiler bar again.
>>25929 I promise, but I was going to delete it after I got it since I worried that this place is going to be found.
>>25930 After I watched episode 9's hardsubs it cut off at a certain point to where it said no connection.
>>25930http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R09HIJE0
>>25906 Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is the answer given in one of Ankama`s own magazine: "Ces différences phisyques sont liées à la foi de chacun.Les habitants prennent la forme du dieu en qui ils croient et ceux qui ne sont pas encore décidés restent avec une apparence humaine."For those who don`t read french: The physicals differences are linked to the faith of each individuals. The inhabitants take the form of the god they believe in and those that haven`t decided yet maintain their human appearance. It also goes on to say that eliatropes are the exception
Another teaser. Sorry if I'm late to the party.http://www.catsuka.com/player.php?id=wakfu_nox_ba_france3
>>25938You're not breaking any bubble here. Re-read carefully, I never said faith=shape is not how it works, (implicitly, I say it does, in fact), I just said this explaination was made afterthought, long after they came up with the base background, when some people started asking how characters' appearance worked.I'm also saying that the current official version is not flawless (which is a fact) and that another previous one was better (which is an opinion you may disagree with).Hope I was more clear.
Frenchy is kind of right. The real reason there are pandas and catgirls in this game is because people wanted to play as pandas and catgirls
>>25944gorram furries.
>>25944are you implying people wanted to be drunk pandas, cat gamblers or blue devils with sado-maso fetish?you're crazy.i like that.
>>25944>in b4 neckbeards vomit bile over this obvious, common-sense explanation because it isn't abstracted enough.
>>25916Well if you want to consider some characters as hybrids why not Grovy? He may not know it but it would make sense to me if he has some Sacrier in him, looking like he did at the end of 22. Not to say that the creators intended or even thought of this but it's something I'll believe just to flesh out the world a little bit for myself.
>>26055No your sacrier bullshit must end this very day. I'm sick of it turning up in every fucking wakfu thread.
>>26057Don't worry. Tristepin's too stupid to be anything but an intrepid yoghurt.
>>26055...What are you, stupid? That wasn't him going Sacrier, that was him acting like an Iop for once. Sacriers have one pupil, one blank, and get stronger as they are damaged. Iop generally have no pupils, and are crazy strong; the reason Grovy has his pupils most of the time is because he's trying to be a thinker. The end of 22 was just him finally giving in to his nature the way most Iops do 24/7.
Once again this thread has fallen into the discussion category. Do not forget this is supposed to be primarily for translations and sharing eps. If you want to discuss wakfu sex and what class an Iop is, do it in /co/
Oh let us fuck around. I tried reviving the old discussion thread with similar ideas like 5x and it still died. Besides, nothing to do for another 3 weeks. What's the worst that can happened? A 200 post crapflood? We'll just start anew on the fifth.
>>26080True, I'm just missing the updates on the Le Corbeau Noir translations. And if you are going to fuck around at least post pics.
Good news everyone, Ep 24 will be uploaded on their web-TV a bit sooner : may 22th.(it will still be broadcasted on french TV with the remaining episodes on june 5th)http://forum.wakfu.com/fr/discussions-generales-f20/inedits---fin-de-la-saison-1-t66731.html
>>26082working on it. I've had lot of work this week, and computer crash the week before. I hope I can get the raw script by the end of the week.
>>26084Don't worry too much about it Frenchy, I've been very busy also. In fact these last few days I've been worried you'd have it done and I wouldn't be able to edit the images in a timely manner for people.
>>26082 hereand all my questions are answered.
>>26083yesyesYESSSS!insert "Groovy on knees" picture gere.
By the way, if anyone liked my dirty stories, i updated on AFF.picture a little too related
>>26072>>26057Holy fuck you guys are bitchy. I thought this was supposed to be respite from all the hate and negativity that started shitting up the real /co/. Excuse me for having an idea. Anyway, moving along, what's the status on the comics and their translations if I might ask?
>>26202sorry buddy, it's just a very irritating discussion topic that's frequently used to troll Wakfu threads. Didn't mean to snap. There is no such thing as multiclassing in Wakfu.although i don't see why not, in retrospective. Can't you be good at swordfighting AND like gambling? But let's not start. The canon hammer says no multiclass
>>26210Miranda is an Ecaflip , yet something tells me she's part Enutrof.
>>26224don't try it.
>>26224Any class in the game can open a store. If she was part Enutrof, she would have sold the map for a profit then and there instead of betting it in exchange for the Black Raven's defeat. Plus if there is any obvious dimorphism to be had among the classes, it would be their apparent worship to the gods of dem hips. And Ankama are once again putting out more artbooks to punish my wallet with. The concept art is nice to look over while waiting for the next episode, at least.
>>26227That is a beautiful picture, thank you for posting it.
>>26227man, Ankama sure knows how to milk the franchise.
I'm amazed it wasn't posed before. And yes, Ankama milks their work like a cow with a vaccuum cleaner in deep space. Search DOFUS in their shop. They probably have dofus wallpaper glue for their dofus wallpapers
>>26227You mean the dofus 2.0 artbook or the cafe sale stuff?Stuff I can live without, TBH.
>>26242Both. I'm a sucker for artbooks, how-to's, tips, tricks or even a big fat stack of reference images on that never ending quest for self improvement. In the grand scale, they're all superfluous acquisitions as the majority is rarely looked back on and that which is of interest is ignored once its purpose is served. An image search on Google or favourite-hopping on DA would be just as effective....you're right. I don't need it.
>>26246Just think of all the food you'll be able to eat instead!
Aw fuck, check out Inside Ankama #12, there's a little animated bit at the beginning with Wakfu characters, Maliki and Ankama staff.... looks like we could see the remastered Goultard on the 29th of May...Somebody French tell me if I'm wrong.http://www.ankama.com/fr/60-video-ankama/3597-inside-ankama-12

I wasn't watching this before, but you guys and the real /co/ convinced me. Just finished EP 12, feel like I got hit upside the head with an arc of something other than a french flash cartoon.I think I might have to remix that theme they're using for the dance bits and the climactic play, it's so FUCKING POWERFUL. Keep wishing they were like the Japs and dropped a full song version of the intro alongside the show. I'd buy a Wakfu CD or seven in a heartbeat.
there it is !http://www.mediafire.com/?z0xdkwnnnqeI hope Caedo is around so he can start working on the subs ;)

>>26479I think they're lowering everyone's expectations until the finale, then they'll LET ALL THE AWESOME LOOSE TO RAPE YOUR SQUISHY LOWERED EXPECTATIONS.
>>25372>So 'Ouillapastille' means literally 'Ouchtheanus'...Did I just learn the french word for butthurt?
>>26485macroNAO
>>26485It is a neologism that isn't even self-explanatory outside of the context from the comic and the previous bandit names. If you want a more litteral translation, it would be "mal au cul" (not an adjective though but it's the closest to the direct image)And if you want a translation that really fits the context and use of "butthurt", we french people are using the word "rageux" (literally : "raging one" on a condescending tone)That was Frenchy's swear words 101 lesson
Still working away. Current status: Rough Timing: 24/24 Fine Timing : 02/24 A word of warning in advance, the machine I use to run the very slow processed encodes for the web releases crashed whilst processing the video for the softsub sometime last night. As such, rather than make everyone wait additional time I intend to release a far less processed version of the episode (perhaps 1/10 the computer time worth of post-process). This will make it look somewhat worse, but I'm hoping to again have access to TV raws once the finale actually airs, and hope to do a better encode then from the cleaner source.PS: the king's voice is exceedingly annoying to isolate and time, nearly toneless even in spectrum view -_-'
>>26490The raw from the stream wasn't good to begin with, so even with proper processing, it would have still been necessary to redo the subs with the TV source from june 5th. So, I think no one will care if we have a placeholder for 2-3 weeks with lower quality as long as a better one is on schedule.Keep in mind we have a lot of work ahead :May 29th : Goultard specialJune 5th : ep. 25, 26 and Nox speciallater : ep.24 with TV source.
>>26481I thought that this WAS the finale, that's why they're going to be airing the last three episodes all in one go.
>>26490>PS: the king's voice is exceedingly annoying to isolate and time, nearly toneless even in spectrum view -_-'I'm not used to how subs timing works but if you need any help I can tell you when he says such or such sentence (+/- 1 second precision)
>>26492This episode is indeed part of the Wakfu "end of 1st season" special event scheduled by France 3 on june 5th. Episodes 24,25 and 26 will be aired together. However, Ankama negociated the rights to air episode 24 at their convention on may 15th and 16th. And last week they also negociated the rights to upload this episode on their website, on may 22th. That's why we have it a bit sooner than expected.
>>26488>And if you want a translation that really fits the context and use of "butthurt", we french people are using the word "rageux" (literally : "raging one" on a condescending tone)Except the context and use of "butthurt" is for someone who just got obliterated getting pissy and defensive but still basically being a mess.Rageux sounds like french for "U MAD." And I think I'm gonna start using that one IRL.
>>26490>PS: the king's voice is exceedingly annoying to isolate and time, nearly toneless even in spectrum view -_-'I don't know what software you're using, but I'm sitting on the iZotope mixing/mastering/repairing suite, along with a couple DAWs (FL Studio, Adobe Audition, Soundforge, etc.) I'm also on a fucking blazing machine and could stream what I was doing, since you speak the language and I don't. Get up a livestream/skype thing going and just have you listen in and holler when we're hot or cold.TL;DR. if you think you some SUPERIOR TECH could make things easier for you, holla.
>>26495The use of "rageux" fits both, imho
>>26496>>26493Heh, thanks for the offers, though I suppose I'm making a bigger deal of it than it actually is.To do the timing, I just load the audio stream into a very simple program that lets me visually select on the linear track, associating each selection timecode in/out with a line of text.Vocals as I'm sure you're aware tend to stand out quite well in a spectrum view of stereo sources, mostly due to the fact that the tend to have unigue consistent tonality, and most people mix them with slightly higher amplitudes. Applying some stereo filtering also helps as mos studios mix voice tracks in a more monaural way compared to FX and music. Sorta the same trick 'karaoke' filters use. The king's voice tends to be very monotone, and for some reason a bit lower in amplitude during his long segments starting at about 0:05:25.21 and on.Basically it means I have to do more actual listening for the timing versus visually setting my segments and only fine tuning the lead-in/out.Not really something more processing can help, and I'm not actually doing any extraction; just bellyaching about them making me work slightly harder at it.
>>26499I'm just saying I might have a better capacity to do said visual isolation considering I've got an audio production rig on hand. I mean, I doubt there's that much accuracy in the spectral view of what you're using, since it's not just a dedicated audio workstation. Not that Edison is much better, but the iZotope/Sony stuff and Audition are gonna be way closer to dead-on-balls-accurate.
>>26485 >>26488 Just repeating what I said in >>25425because everybody missed it,: For "ouillealapastille" think of someone using a suppository.(I`ve never heard of pastille meaning butthole, considering its usual meaning however, suppository would seem to make more sense. And it`s still butt related)
Here's the softsub of EP 24: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OWK686IN magnet:?xt=urn:btih:YTCG4ERZ3UWUOCNXOQA7J4Z3KQRZXBAF I'm providing a magnet link for torrenting again, as Mega has been giving people headaches the past few days with their 'temporarily unavailable' nonsense. I'll open my connection to 4k kB/s for the next few hours or so.
>>26511Mission "episode 24" : accomplished/highfives Caedo
>>26512Highfive indeed, though I must say this is the roughest piece I've ever released on this project.I finally caved in to the 'speed over quality' argument, after considering that with so many weeks deprived, the ravenous hordes just might hunt me down otherwise.Honestly can't wait for the television finale, so I can polish it a bit more.THe question of course becomes, do I release all the remaining episodes as I complete them, or in one biiiig pile. . . .
considering it's 3 new episodes plus remastered 24, that will take some time. I think you should release them one at a time when they're done (or you might end up with a bunch of "proffessionals" looking after you :p )
Not to be a pest, but... how long until the hardsub?
>>26516A hell of a lot longer than it would take to download MPC and the softsub, that's for sure.
>>26516he said he will wait until the TV finale, so about a week after june 5
>>26516>>26520I did say that....but I guess I'm just a big softie.Hardsub for EP 24. Be warned this is a straight encode from the source, no filtering beyond making it mod16. Expect it to look worse than typical.http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1SSALNJBmagnet:?xt=urn:btih:KRZVPWFYK7WUBOWVOJQFIH7GGW64E7S6
jeeeez almost forgotThank you everyone involved! You guys fill my otherwise boring life with much joyWill you accept these flowers?
Ankama was good to me today!
I take back what i said about Armand. He is a bro.
Dear CaedoI love you.
Would it be too much to ask for an avi format of 24? I can't seem to get anything else to workI don't care if it's subbed or raw.
>>26539Not too long, I reckon.
>>24818Yup.Then I'd have to find a bluray player for it, and a screen worthy of it, but yup.
>>26543Tot said he would try to have the series released on blueray, 'cause even DVD quality is not on par with the original production source.
Hey I just came across what I assume to be a pilot/trailer for the show. The character designs and plot seem somewhat different from actually ended up happening, like Grovy is pupil-less and there seems to be a female Iop character. Also the animation seems a lot less flash vector model-y, at least in the fight scenes.I'm still super glad with what we got but damn if I don't think this looks awesomehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaE-YpOPHBYSame shit, different song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCGrA5WV2JY
>>26550This was indeed one of the first trailers mixing early scenes from the series and character concept with scenes from the Goultard episode (which was initially made before the series). The female iop you see is Goultard's mother.
>>26551Is it known if either Goultard or his mother will be seen again in the series?I would be willing to bet that a Iop society Iop doesn't sound like it starts with a vowel so it sounds weird for me to say an Iop will be explored some time in the next season, seeing as how they spent time to figure out what that would be like, and since we haven't seen any of Grovy's childhood home.
>>26521The pests of the world love you.
>>26553 I don't think we'll see Goultards mom, considering that she lived in the Dofus era - unless she is immortal like Goultard, but that would be ridiculous.
>>26555however, they recycled her sprite animation, we can see it in the crowd at Kelba's market, during the Black Raven episode.
>>26555Makes sense, I would still really like to see female Iop characters. And characters of the other classes as well.
>>26521>Expect it to look worse than typical.I don't know what you're on, buddy, but stay away from it. The quality of that hardsub was brilliant, there was no choppiness or blocks or anything.
>>26553> Iop doesn't sound like it starts with a vowel so it sounds weird for me to say an IopIop is pronounced 'Yop', so 'an Yop' is incorrect, unless you're pronouncing it 'an Ee-yop'.
I know I'm late to the party and all butHOOOOOOLYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIITIt's like their entire budget went into this one
>>26568It's not actually based on sound but consonant/vowel positioning with exceptions made for unsounded letters. There is no unsounded I in the english language, so there's no exception. "An Iop" is correct. That said, if the word were actually common, an exception would be made, so it doesn't really matter. I'd still say "an" but that's because I pronounce it "Eyop." I presume if I ever actually had to say it with any regularity she'd deform to "Yop" quickly enough and I'd switch articles.
Sorry to be a downer, but did you guys use some new encoding on episode 24? Both my laptop and my brother's can't play it. The sound and video are de-synched on the hardsub and the softsub shows a grey screen before it crashes both VLC and Mplayer.Yes, I know we're using the "wrong" media players (on macs, no less, horror of horrors), but I haven't had a problem with Wakfu before.
>>26557aww man i wanted to mindfuck with himdarn it, frenchy:(
aand part 2
>>26581I also use a mac except I use a plug-in for QuickTime called Parian that works most of the time and for everything else I use VLC ... anyways my point was that you should try out Parian at least episode 24 worked fine with it. .
>>26582:p
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A342SJV7Here's the avi hardsub for ep 24 (with checksum). Subs are on black bars. Enjoy.
Had no prolbems watching it. Looked great. Those of you having problems might try using the following (It's what I'm using).Media Player Classic Home cinemahttp://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/Using this codec packhttp://www.mediaplayercodecpack.com/Oh and the output is set for Haali though this shouldn't make a difference.
>>26588That sucks! KMplayer is better than that...http://kmplayer.en.softonic.com/
>>26580 >>26568Perhaps it's because of my slight southern accent, and the fact that pronounce 'a Iop' more like 'uh Yawp' that an Iop just sounds weird, like 'An Historian.' Language is a changing thing, what is considered to be 'correct' changes somewhat over time, but what is acceptable by those who don't make it their job to know perfect grammar also changes a great deal more. Honestly I don't think it's worth arguing about, I just wanted you to know that even though I may sound like a retard, it's a conscious decision and I'm aware of it.>>26588>>26587Thanks guys
>>26591>Language is a changing thing, what is considered to be 'correct' changes somewhat over time, but what is acceptable by those who don't make it their job to know perfect grammar also changes a great deal more. As I understand it, there is no official governing body over the English language (like the Académie française for French). The closest thing we have to an authority on the English language is the Oxford dictionary, but there's nothing that makes Oxford any more credible than, say, "English as She Is Spoke". Standard English is based on rules that are widely accepted to be correct, and not what some prescriptive bigwig decided. That is why there are so many dialects of English and why English has such a propensity for change. My point ran and hid when I went into linguistics-student mode. I think it was "Both 'an Iop' and 'a Iop' are descriptively correct".
>>26593Truthfully, no body can set rules for any language's use, because the people will by speaking alter it. Regardless of whether or not there's an "official" party that supposedly has some say in he matter, all any really exist to do is compile how it's being used currently and how it has been used before for reference. The only difference is in whether they're trying to push it on you or try to get you to buy it from them. Or both.
>>26590 Yes I know, whatever software/tools/etcetcetc someone else is using that isn't what YOU use...sucks. I could care less what you use.I was offering help to folks having issues. What you COULD have done...was say "hey you also can try blah-blah-blah-player, it works for me".Instead you decided to be a standard hater/troll.Whatever.
Ok ok, let's not start more flamingpic unrelated, just wanted to share it.
>>26608Dat episode. Fetish fueeeeeeeeeel~Unrelated, but am I the only one hoping for a bread pun in the english dub to the effect of "Strudel rues Ruel Stroud?"
Countdown until Ruel's awesome return, and Amalia's death for not gaining a POWER UP this far into the finale.
can any one upload episode 24 on mediafire? MU isn't working for me :( ..
>>26587>>26584Hi guys, it's me, the guy using all the wrong programs on a Mac.I'm just back to say that the .avi encode worked on my old players, so thanks for that, and that Parian is awesome and works way better than my old setup, so a big thanks there.
>>26624...You fucking suck, you know that? There's no way in hell I'm going to be able to keep from clicking that for two whole weeks.
>>26637fine, deletedFyi, it was just speculation from the trailer.
GURUEL LAGANN, WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?
>>26638I'd guessed, and I probably know what it was anyway. BUT STILL.
I just got to the Grovy episodes. It feels like shit just got substantially more real than it has been through the rest of the series. And I love it.
best part of episode 23
FFFFFFF I can barely wait!
>>26643Have a Goultard special tomorrow then
>>26644wait wut
>>26647Tomorrow there will be a special Insider followed by the Goultard episode, both aviable on their website : www.ankama.frShould be up around 10:00 am in France (8:00 am UTC )
>>26649Frenchy, Caedo, prepare yourselves.
>>26651OOOOK !!
>>26649Manliest Iop ever!
>>26644How did I only JUST notice that Iops don't have eyebrows?!
>>26660It's an art direction. They also don't show noses, yet Grovy picks his in "Vampyro" and wipes it on a mirror.
>>26644Please tell me one of you will translate this.I mean, I'll help with timings or whatever I can if need be, just, please, someone who speaks french french this frenchness.>>26653>OOOOK !!Er...we're doomed, aren't we?
