So, how does /a/ like my Isuzu Trooper engine rebuild. Now, I've just got to finish that damn boomerang!
This pleases War Minister Qin.
>Isuzu Trooper engine rebuild:)>Now, I've just got to finish that damn boomerang!:D
Whoa.That is *sexy*.
Fuck yes.Nicely done, sir.
Did you post this on that other /a/ board?
>>85776Which other /a/ board? I posted it on avatarspirit (since i still have an old account there) and in the Avatar thread over at the narutofan forum (which has a surprisingly good avatar thread... if you can get past the stupid huge sigs).
Got a little more work done on it yesterday too.
>>85789This is why I asked.I thought I was the only one that knew about it.Anyway, just Google 'Civilchan'.
>>85798So, is "Hotman" just the default anon tag over there, or an actual poster?
>>85803I just assumed it was the default Anon tag.If you look at the other boards, they do the same. They're just Simmer, Intern, and Student.
Alright, this things ready to go back in!Problem is, well... We built it in the living room and it weighs about 400 lbs.! How the hell do we get this thing down to the garage?
Guess we'll just have to man handle it!This is actually after we got it down the stairs, but you can see how we lifted it (that's me by the way). We took some straps, tied them to anchor points on the engine, and slung them over our shoulders. That way we could carry it in a way such that our legs were doing most of the work instead of our arms. Now all that's left is getting this thing put back in my Isuzu Sky Bison, uh, I mean Trooper, my Isuzu Trooper (damn did I just give away too much info on what we plan on doing to the outside of my vehicle).
Goddamn. You are a man among men, sir.
>>85884Ok I have to admit that there is something about all of this that is not only impressive but kinda hot in a geeky way. Props man.
You have truly served your country, OP
You put a Fire Nation symbol on it...and...?
>>85971The entire color scheme, I'd think. It's probably pretty difficult to do much custom work on the fucking engine block if you don't have some sort of industrial lathe to make your own parts.
>>85971The engine is just sort of a first step in a larger project. Though, I can't go into too much detail, since it's probably a couple months off. The engine needed immediate attention, since I need the vehicle to get back home to Illinois (from Cali), then the rest of the external mods will happen once I get settled back in and possibly get a second car (cheap and used) so we con do more extensive work on this one. I have some pictures of it in the truck, but there on my friends phone and he hasn't emailed them to me yet. >>85886>>85935Heh, thanks, but let me emphasize that I'm not the motorhead. It's my car, and I'm doing all I can to help, but it's my friend who's knows all about engines. He's teaching me, and I'm helping where I can, but without his help, I wouldn't have been able to do any of this by myself. P.S. The 'friend' I keep referring to is the same guy I was talking about in the movie thread who I got to watch he series after he saw the movie and hated it.
>>85997Sadness... to have such talent and no taste *giggle*
>>86000Let me clarify that he saw the movie and hated it but loved the series once I got him to watch it.
>>86003That's much better.
