Now we all know that these tools don't make you a better artist, but they can make interaction with your medium of choice easier, which can make you faster and allow for faster improvement. Let's talk about the tools we prefer, why, and 'tricks' we may have picked up. First i have an intuos 3 8x9. The size is nice and i like the buttons, but i probably didn't need to spend that much and could have gotten a cheaper graphire at the time much cheaper. As far as applications go, i like photoshop and illustrator and opencanvas. I WOULD like flash, but the brush size is not relative to the image when using a tablet and the paintbrush. That is, when you zoom in, the brush now paints 'thinner' lines relative to the image. This makes line consistency a bitch. And now a new toy i just saw an ad for: http://www.wacom.com.au/bamboo/ multiple touch points FUCK YES. makes lost of sense for browsing, but i'd have to see how paint probrams could be modified to utilize this to it's fulles, and how accurate it is.

>>23183 I didn't realize my mistake until i'd posted. I'd saved the files so i could reference them later while trying to emulate the flash file's action scriptiong in that toonboom program. (i couldn't even fin the actionscripting in toonboom but i only looked for like 2 minutes.) My default app for flash is firefox since i don't have the SWF standalone player installed on the work computer apparently, and i didn't look too close when i copy and pasted the links from firefox's history into the chatbox. so i do know why that didn't work, i just wasn't paying attention when i did it.

>>23166 throw some shading in there to really make it *pop* that is, tone your picture first with some grey watercolor tool and just use a blur tool to make it nice and smooth grey then draw on top of that afterwards you can use a very light eraser tool to accentuate lighter areas and use watercolor again to darken up other areas. It makes it look really good. See my image of charlie sheen.
