Interesting bit on Aloe's battle. Unova Gym Leaders are apparently allowed to switch Pokémon, unlike the past four regions. Aloe took advantage of this by Roaring away Tepig, then switching to Miruhog while Ash switched to Oshawott, and Mean Looked the unready otter. Not helping was the fact that Miruhog also knew TBolt.

Although that doesn't change the fact Tepig got OHKO'd when it was his turn. Ouch.

The whole point of the Isshu Dex was to be completely devoid of the old guys, guys.

Because of that we have two pokemon who likely were related, but changed to being unrelated after that rule was made.

And we got a Dime Store Chansey ripoff for the Nurse Joys.

In the mean time, no new Eeveelutions.

I'd create a spinoff version(s) that takes place in new region and is mobster themed. The player is a member of a mob and goes off with his pokemon to make his family the strongest in the region. The enemies include police, rival mob families, your rival, a rookie detective trying to clean up the region, and possibly a cameo from a pre-Giovanni Team Rocket. The protags will be different in that not only are they technically villains and not the do-gooder trainer from previous versions, but they will have actual personalities and they will be full of piss and vinegar

I spent the better part of eight months scouring eBay last year to complete a Fossil and Team Rocket Pokémon collection for my cousin's for Christmas. I guess it was my making up for stealing their cards when we were kids.

With the Advent of Generation 5 we have been introduced to 649 different species of Pokemon. An adorable assortment of monsters big and small who have come to exist in a nearly infinite permutation of variety. Or so Gamefreak would have lead you to believe.

So yeah, on further thought my place would be a pad for breeder class trainers, hence all the unevolved but varied types. I haven't got down the specifics since I want to see gyms available in different orders but you can expect they'll be all evolved for the rematch.

It'd be funny if the city was all grimdark industry but the gym is a cheep and cheerful daycare.
