>look at image of Hancock and the relationship chart below her.
>notice some dude that makes Chopper go all sparkly-eyed.

Is that Vegapunk? And if so, what is his relationship to Hancock?! Is he actually related to her? Did he do experiments on her when she was a slave?

And if that's not Vegapunk, who the fuck would have a relationship with Hancock that would make Chopper have that reaction?!

No, there's no one on here because there's nothing to do. No new chapter this week, so we're not gonna have much traffic, either.

Like everyone just got done talking about, there is no chapter this week. You didn't hear about it because the new scanlation group didn't translate the little blurb on the END page, where the announcement always comes.

Hmm. Of course, trademark claims like this don't always lead to releases, but it could be a good sign in favor of an official translation at some point.

They've got Nami in slutwear instead of her early series togs >: (
Honestly now I liked her clothing at the start of the series, I don't mind her getting her tits out, but I liked the less revealing clothes as well.

Apart from that little thing excellent trailer, looking forward to this.

This is just opinion, but I feel like Oda's designs work a lot better still and in black and white than they do when someone tries to animate and color them. They have tons of motion and life even in the stills, so it's no big loss.

Even so, I think Pirate Musou looks pretty keen.

Here's all the new names from the new databook.

*deep breath*

Scopper Gavin: Sunglasses-ed Jolly Roger Pirate, and probably Second Mate given the "copper." He's already picking up a fanbase over at Arlong Park.

Seagull: Spherical Jolly Roger Pirate, seen behind Crocus as the crew prepared to battle the Gold Lions.

Jobo: The drunk that gave Luffy's new bounty to Bellamy back in Jaya.

Vice Admiral Stainless: aka Vice Admiral Epicstache. Victim of Doflamingo and fighter in the Paramount War.

Vice Admiral Mozambia: The officer controlled by Doflamingo to strangle Stainless.

Vice Admiral Cancer: The third VA at the meeting, with the cool sunglasses.

Hakowan: Wapol's cyborg dog. Name roughly means "Box Bark."

Isa: Aisa's mother. May also be "Ether."

Gode the Wise: Enel's Mesopotamian-esque servant.

Warashi, Mayushika, Yotsubane: Shandians defeated by Ohm.

Moiru: Appeared in chapter 272; no idea who this is, probably a Skypiean. He looks beat up in his headshot.

Mochi: Little Skypiean boy.

Dr. Kuroshiru: The doctor Ace mistook for Teach in his coverstory.

Habu: A worried-looking woman from the Calgara flashback; other than that, I have no clue who she is.

Kyuji: Moda's father, from Ace's coverstory.

Koda: Moda's mother, from the same.

Captain Kibagaeru: The ex-captain of the Fanged Toads, now with the Foxies.

Ishigo Shitemana: The Water 7 resident the Straw Hats went to to exchange their Skypiean gold.

Dr. Kyukyu: Iceberg's caretaker after he was shot.

Yanao: The man who helped Usopp in Water 7; this is also the first instance I recall of Oda actually FORGETTING SOMETHING, as he'd named this guy something else in an SBS.

Judge Georgie: The guy who sentenced Tom.

Bushon and Steve: The Sea Train stationmasters.

Oran and Mizuira: Father and daughter Ohara residents; other than that, no clue who they are.

Lasky: Kalifa's father, and member of Spandine's CP9.

Kanezeni and Nigerata: More people from Robin's flashback who I don't know anything about. Kanezeni looks like a kind old lady, and Nigerata like a creepy middle-aged man.

"Sune Kashiri no Chesskipper": The pirate whose crew Robin tried to join in her flashback.

Sergeant Cosmo: The little robot in the tricorn hat from Enel's adventure.

General Galaxy: The little robot in the samurai armor from the same.

Makuro: The little robot in the knight armor from the same.

Captain Shimazu: The weasel-looking captain of the Space Pirates on the moon.

Terry Gluteo: The Revolutionary in the dog hat from the post-Enies Lobby arc.

Unigaro: The unicorn zombie on Thriller Bark.

Mockdonald: The tree zombie having tea with Unigaro.

Captain Guu: The Captain of the shadowless crew seen after Moriah's defeat.

Chief Petty Officer Asahijya: The Naval officer who gets his shadow back after Moriah's defeat.

Egana: Margarita's (woman whose shadow was in Cindry) boss.

Minoruba and Kairiken: Beaten-up bounty hunters on Sabaody.

Jyudi: The doctor shot by Chalross.

Heat: The fire-breathing, zombie-looking member of the Kid Pirates.

Wire: The other prominent Kid Pirates member, with the BDSM-esque devil costume.

Stansen: The giant who befriended Rayleigh at the auction house.

Rear Admiral Sicily: The officer who reported Luffy punching Chalross to Sengoku.

Tiffany: The transvestite who tried to catch Sanji in a butterfly net.

Shanba: The head caveman on the island Chopper was sent to.

Commodore Daigin: The officer in the samurai helmet Sadie wouldn't let into Impel Down.

Prince Preto: The first guy we see Iva *ahem* demonstrate his powers on.

Roida: A reporter at Sabaody covering the Paramount War.

Vice Admiral Bastille: The giant VA in the iron mask, apparently named in reference to "The Man in the Iron Mask."

Outlook III: Sabo's dad.

Aho Desunen IX: The particularly loathsome Goa noble who explains that the residents of the Grey Terminal deserve to die for not being nobles. His name apparently means something like "Smug Idiot."

Aho Zurako: A little girl Goa noble and apparently the only one with any reservations about letting the Grey Terminal residents die.

Bunny Joe: The Revolutionary in the nice hat who saved Robin, and unfortunately apparently not Sabo.

Dr. Fishbone: The Navy doctor who diagnoses Coby's acquisition of Haki.

Haritsu Kentiyo: The captain of the crew crucified by the Kid Pirates.

Kasa: The old lady who offered Urouge an umbrella.

"Iron Boy" Scotch: Kaido's cyborg subordinate, challenged by Drake.

Thanklin: Brook's manager.

Humphrey: The tender of the bar where we first see Nami after the Time Skip.

Rear Admiral Catacombo: The Naval officer post-Time Skip who gets incapacitated by love for... I can't really remember who.

Kasagoba: Hammond's lionfish friend who totally should've gotten a fight.

Lulis, Adele, Fiancee, Sora: Various mermaids.

Junan: Pappug's assistant.

Habaniru: The criminal stopped by Otohime in her flashback.

And the Flawhats! Fake Nami is Chocolat, Fake Zoro is Manjaro, Fake Franky is Torko, Fake Sogeking is Maunbluten, and Fake Chopper is "stray fox."

Say, would I be the only one who would've found it interesting if this group (maybe +Hancock) had stayed on as the permanent New World Straw Hat crew? I mean, they're stronger on average than the current crew (with Buggy and Galdino perhaps dragging them down a bit), meaning Luffy might not have needed the timeskip to be New World-ready if they'd stayed on. I'm sure there'd be some resentment and feeling of cheapness that the characters we'd followed for ten years had all been red herrings, but I'd stay on because I'd be confident Oda wouldn't screw it up. How about you guys?

Hahaha, the shitstorm would be AMAZING. Like, the previous chapter would say "starting next week One Piece will be published in our seining magazine" and then BOOM, everyone gets murdered brutally. I mean I would drop the series immediately but looking back it would be pretty funny.

My only gripe with these guys being Strawhats would be Crocodile and Daz Bones.

Croc is just better as an antagonist and rival, and Bones is just plain uninteresting.

And, like most people have said, I don't think it would be wise for them to just up and drop the rest of Luffy's crew like that. even if there are a couple of them that I really wish would drop off the face of the Earth. Not saying who, because it'll just start a shitstorm

I don't think the Eclipse would translate well to the One Piece universe...mainly because I think the Straw Hats could survive it, though if Chopper, Nami or Usopp survived their mind would be shattered to splinters.

Yeah, I sincerely want Crocodile to never go down the shonen manga "whoop we're bros so I'm good now" road. I'm hoping he faces down the Strawhats again because he's pretty much my favorite antagonist for Luffy. Nothing like watching all those plans and back-up plans and back-up-back-up plans of twisty dickery crumble under the weight of Luffy's sheer Luffocity.

One Piece Eclipse: Kuma doesn't give a shit about anyone but Luffy so instead of launching them in chapter 513 he only launches their heads. There's your eclipse.

Unless Kuma can do that without killing people, which would be both pretty silly and immediately solve the current arc mystery. Whoops.

>Nothing like watching all those plans and back-up plans and back-up-back-up plans of twisty dickery crumble under the weight of Luffy's sheer Luffocity.

Just because I love the Alabasta arc, I gotta say that never happened. Luffocity got Luffy pretty much killed, and it took a WHOLE LOT more than guts and friendship to save the day from Crocodile.
>> No. 24545
>>24544
When I said "Luffocity", I was thinking along the lines of raw determination to kick Crocodile's ass, not the power of friendship. Yes, it nearly got him killed, but it was also why he kept coming back. Stuck him in an elaborate death trap and left no possibility for escape, and he escaped it. The final battle was really satisfying because we saw in real time a man who had previously been depicted as so very in control and on top of every situation (despite making some really dumb decisions - elaborate death traps never ever work, Crocodile) on his very last rope, going from emergency contingency plan to emergency contingency plan (hook, poison hook, knife) but all of them being stripped from him by Luffy's colossal, unmoveable determination to punch him up good (the aforementioned Luffocity). At the very end, he had, for the first time, nothing left - the man who had an answer for every eventuality was out of them. He could do nothing but lash out and take the punches. And in the end, Luffocity triumphed.

That final fight is one of my absolute favorites because I really enjoy seeing the my favorite clever villains being not just defeated, but completely taken apart. It's gratifying.

When Luffy had nothing going for him but Luffocity, it ended in this. Luffy really never stopped (aside from once to take a nap,) but Alabasta was remarkable in being an arc where Luffy's determination to get through anything DIDN'T save the day or end the fight. He entered into the final battle, the last chance to save everything, and LOST.

And then came back and won, but that had many other things helping him (things like Nico Robin and water barrels.) Guts only got Luffy so far.
>> No. 24547
>>24546
Er, yes? I never said it did? I know it wasn't just Luffy. I never said it was. I think you're under the impression that when I cited Luffy as my favorite protagonist to see against Crocodile I somehow meant he was the only protagonist who fought against Crocodile.
>> No. 24548
>>24547
No, I just misinterpreted a bit by the line of "backup plan upon backup plan falling to guts and determination." Alabasta's the first arc where sheer guts and determination weren't enough, so I took a little offense to that. I shouldn't have though, and it's clear that's not quite what you meant, so sorry.
