Dammit, you just turned a cliff hanger into an ending of a family comedy sitcom.

I'd watch a post apocalyptic family comedy. That's some fresh soil.

I am getting really tired of this show hitting a lot of the same beats of the comic... but less effectively.

Lori gets mad at Rick for leaving... but not for no clear reason like in the comic (where he left to go permakill Shane) but because Hershel ran off to get drunk alone.

Rick starts killing to protect the group... but just some random guys, not the well armed incarcerated murderer threatening to kill the group or the guy about to tell the location of their safehouse to the guys that cut off his hand and gangraped Michonne.

The Atlanta survivors slaughter the barn zombies, but not because it's a tremendously moronic idea that bites Hershel in the ass, but because Shane is getting crazier and needed to kill something.

I think it's a perfectly fine movie, definitely better than the Hulk movie that came after it, as long as one is willing to accept the lengthy running time and visual flourish Ang Lee brings to it. Yes, it's quite odd in the way it's made, but it does manage to be more than just a brainless "HULK SMASH" overdone CGI filler-flick for the Marvel Movie-verse.

His show is mostly background noise to me now, but it's good to see Conan's new show will outlive his short-lived stunt on The Tonight Show. His ratings still aren't great, but TBS constantly playing The Big Bang Theory before Conan seems to have given the show a boost. Although, it makes me think TBS will try to kick it up a notch by playing an episode of Conan on a tiny screen during the TBBT, or plaster Sheldon's face over Conan's.

I also don't like the Speed Racer movie, but that's because it honestly hurts my eyes, and I can't help that. Also the cartoon is only ironically entertaining, it's not even particularly good for its period. It's amusing though, and I'm sure there's value to the movie, but I just can't stand all the bright lights and flashes and stuff, for the same reasons I can't stand movies in 3D. Not because I think it's a bad movie.

But my favorite movies are probably... Ghostbusters, The Thing, Alien, Back to the Future and Forrest Gump. Yeah, that seems pretty acceptable.

I dunno if I'd call it my favorite, but I don't really like choosing favorites, and this is one I could watch over and over, so...yeah, I guess I'll post this one.

I don't know about the newer shit, but the first couple of seasons were greater than halfway original content. In fact, I give the producers an enormous amount of credit because they literally had to construct feasible plotlines (accessable to American preteens of the 90's) AROUND the imported footage, blending it together so seamlessly and believably that most of us kids had no freaking idea it was made that way. That had to have been a royal pain in the ass, compared to making something 100% original.

Yeah, I disagree. Cause Doctor Who HAD a Q Continuum counterpart: The Guardians. And the only ways the Doctor has ever beaten THOSE guys is with the help OF other Guardians, and even then those victories have just been based on stopping their plans and getting the fuck out of there. He had to spend a whole season running on random just to get away from one, and all he did was scatter a few pieces of a Key. The Guardians don't die or fail, they get slowed down.

And what would Q's brethren have to look at with the Doctor? He did beat his race and the Daleks, so he might be a capable opponent, but a quick look at his interactions with something similar the Q Continuum means they know the Doctor knows full well that taking on the Q is a bad move. They won't be cocky, but the Doctor is not a totally unbeatable force on their scale. Q won't back down.

But I do want to see them up against one another.

You know, for the longest time, I've always heard the 'George has lost his touch' excuse, and only fairly recently, around the time of Indiana Jones 4, have people started pointing out that the original trilogy was a group effort. George took the fame and kept the rights, not only for the product, but for all the toys, spinoffs, books, and everything else he could make money off of. Without the same crew behind the prequels, the quakity changed, but George's mastery over product and advertisment ensured its growth to what it is today.

As for the movie bob retrospect. He should realise that sequels/prequels being compared to their predicesors is a perfectly reasonable way to review them. They are sequels. They're a continuation of the original story and if it fails to meet the standards and expectations set up by the original, it makes sense to take off points.
