REMIYAX is a megamix of all the really excellent doujin remixes of the track EMIYA from Fate/Stay Night. Here's the original:
Emiya Original Versionyoutube thumb

The idea was to blend the tracks together as seamlessly as possible, so that you don't even notice the transition. In its latest form, REMIYAX is 55 minutes long. I already posted this to /a/ and Wakachan's Type Moon board, so I figured I'd share the love here.

Full zip containing v4 and all of the mixes used to make up the entire thing:

REMIYAX v4 alone, with a text file explaining the sources for each one:

What you liked about it was good, but I just felt that it was outweighed by the parts where I just wonder when it'll get on with it.

I don't remember the ending of the comic vs the movie being that different, just cutting the bit out at the end with Night Owl mentioning a cheap porn comic he had of the original silk specter.
>> No. 65654
>>65633

I liked both versions, for slightly-different reasons; I'm not a purist — I just like to be entertained. I'm probably the only person who doesn't like one and vehemetly hate the other. Whatever.

As for the ending, I wouldn't say ruined. They probably had to cut out the Daniel-and-Laurie-randomly-having-"we're alive!"-sex to keep the rating from going any higher. I liked the bit with Ozy having a breakdown as Doctor Manhatten stood inside his orrery, but it wasn't terribly important.

A character's morals/goals as well as a larger message or theme is largely up to the individual to decide upon reading the work. In a movie, people don't want to think, they want to be told what to think. You're supposed to sit slack-jawed and drooling on yourself while you watch a movie, getting absorbed into the pace and tone. The director simply had to CHOOSE a theme and message to give to the audience; if that didn't match up with the message you personally got from the comic, too bad. The man isn't psychic, and he didn't set out to please just YOU.

Then again, I saw the movie first; I didn't have any expectations going into it, which is the right thing to do. Same as what they say about movie adaptations of books.

>I liked the bit with Ozy having a breakdown as Doctor Manhatten stood inside his orrery, but it wasn't terribly important.

That's gonna be a huge disagreement point with us, then, because the removal of that scene in place of Dan coming along and berating Ozymandias for what he's done, and adding in one final kiss between Manhattan and Laurie (not to mention her giving the "nothing ever ends" line as if she managed to fully understand him by the end) was what I felt changed the tone and message of the ending.

We had a moment where Ozymandias reverted back to Adrian at that last moment of the comic. He was questioning himself, he was no longer the King of Kings right then and there, and worst of all for him was that right at the moment when he would have needed the clarity, the foresight and planning he'd had all along, he had no answers: he was an ordinary man, and the living god in front of him had nothing to give him. Having somebody come along and tell him he was bad ruins that.

Dan and Laurie having sex could have been removed in place of falling asleep in each others arms or snuggling together and Doc Manhattan looking on from far away, the cathartic lovemaking wasn't as important as Laurie solidifying her connection with Dan and Doc Manhattan letting her go, which got flubbed with that final kiss and Dan looking on all weepy since Rorschach just got flash-popped into paste.

Rorschach death was mostly okay, but there was something to the fact that nobody followed him out or tried to stop him once he'd set himself on his path. Moore specifically wrote Rorschach to be unlikeable, with his death specifically linked to his creedo: "Never compromise. Even in the face of Armageddon, never compromise." Having Dan there to suddenly cry out when he dies didn't overwrite that, but using it to lead into him berating Ozymandias takes away some of the loneliness his death was supposed to have, and the fact that never compromising was what lead to it.

Quite frankly, another thing is that I can't just shut my brain off. If something is making me think along

Welp, it's time for me to step in, as fan of the original comic.
You see, the original italian comic series began to be published around 2001, and it was fairly good (even despite some executive meddling that tweaked the plot), at least until the issue #64, when the last of the original creators leaved the comic.
Anyways, around the 2005, an animated adaptation was released based VERY loosely on the first arc, and making it more magical mediavalesque that the comic originally was (mostly since they wanted to cash on the LotR hype, The Return of The King was released around that time). And as we know, it was awful.
Enter Greg Weisman, of Gargoyles fame, who developed the second season of the series. And while it still was loosely based on the second arc it was better in plot and writing, the main antagonist, Nerissa, was pretty much a female version of Xanatos, the girls and co. weren't always with the advantage, and even Nerissa's own minions are more effective than their comic counterparts(specially Shagon/Matt), among other things.
Overall, while not a masterpiece, it was a huge improvement from the first season, and it made the series more enjoyable.

And >>64765 mentioned, he probably did the bad move of missing the second season.

You know what? I've tried. I've tried really hard but I really don't care for "The Major" as a character. I've watched the films, I've watched Standalone Complex, and I just don't see what's likeable about this character. It's just a slight variation of the "Tough exterior, soft interior", done with a more realistic, thoughtful touch, and then heaped in some meta-physical nonsense trying to make things seem deep. Were it not for the rare mistake I'd have trouble taking her seriously - especially when the animators love to throw in cleavage/ass shots for no reason.

Meanwhile Batou and Togusa are so enjoyable they could star in their own sitcom.

That's because bond is also thriller fiction akin to the pulps of the 30s and 40s with damsels in distress while Ghost in the Shell is more musings on particular facets of the world and ideals Shirow is tossing about at the time decorated in Major TnA and some technology shots; Different authorial styles and different strategies using the same type of character to entertain people in either one man philosophical debates or dry humored action. Except when Fleming starts talking about his theories on women but that's neither here nor there.

Just got around to finishing this, and despite how divisive it can be, it was a pretty solid and fun series.

-Excellent Presentation
-Great Soundtrack
-A Hero that's likable, and better yet, bearable as he steadily becomes more and more awesome as the show progresses
-Genre Savvy Villains
-Good Action
-A Finale that's essentially an epic Chekhov's Arms Race between the heroes and villains

DVD Sales haven't been all too good, but who knows, a strong, positive American reaction might warrant a second season, Heroman's got a big O after all.

So yeah, Heroman General, discussion, Season 2 speculation, image postings, etc.
