Reposting my rant since it was posted after autosage.

Normally, my opinion on Blaine is indifference. He's done some pretty douchey things but I was willing to let them slide. But this scene made me cross the line into outright hatred of him. There's so many things wrong with it I can't even.

First of all they just kind of dropped that bomb out of nowhere. If it was meant to add depth the whole setup of the scene caused it to get lost amid everything. And shouldn't Blaine have showed more emotion or the like about something so terrible? Instead of just sounding like he was reading from a script?

Second, nothing Blaine's said or done ever suggested he got beat up due to his homosexuality. If anything, the way he's been written up to this point suggests that he had it easy compared to Kurt and that his insensitivity to Kurt's situation was out of ignorance and therefore understandable.

Which leads me to the last point. Suddenly things which I used to think made the character more likeable or interesting in a good way now just scream "utterly contemptible douchebag". Look at "Courage", which is his defining character trait. He knows how bad homophobic bullying can be, telling Kurt to rub it in the bullies' faces is the last thing he should be telling him to do, and horrible advice from his perspective. And if he knows from personal experience how awfully people get treated for being gay, and is so insistent to Kurt about being "discreet", then, why is he so eager to out Karofsky and serenade Jeremiah publicly? He's gone from smug insensitive bastard to smug insensitive bastard who's now also a raging hypocrite.

Sorry Glee, if you were hoping to make me like Blaine with that, then you've done the complete opposite.

Sadly it seems to me the writers just don't do continuity. I mean, they've made some pretty obscure throwbacks to minor plot points in old episodes which shows they are at least aware of it, but for some reason they just choose not to use it. See: making up a new story about Lucy Caboosey, for example, when her daughter would've probably worked better. Or Quinn's entire characterization this season, for that matter.

Let me stop you right there. No.

I love Karofsky and I'm glad that he's been given time to shine, but I'm thinking if they stuck with the original Kurt/Sam plotline and not siphoned the closet angst onto Karofsky I'm sure we could've trimmed out nearly all of the stupidity, OOC, and pointlessness that came after NBK. Especially Dalton which should've been about gay bullying like they said but ended up being mounds of filler.

And it's not like they still couldn't have their Klaine cake and eat it too doing it that way. In fact the reduced screentime would've probably make me like Blaine a lot more. I mean, I root for Finchel but I've been able to get far more enjoyment out of St. Berry than Klaine, and without it hogging up episodes' worth of time that could've been spent towards other characters.

But no, it seems like Ryan Murphy's boner has shifted from Chris Colfer to Darren Criss so now we're stuck with a continuously hemorrhaging storyline. Someone claimed one of the writers said that Blaine isn't the final boyfriend though. I'm skeptical of that, but I'd like to think that it's possible to have a Kurt romantic plotline with an actor who was at least competent and didn't suck or make me want to break things.

Scattered all over Tumblr for the most part. I know a bunch of them are from this year's Paleyfest, some of them are also from BtS or assorted interviews after Silly Love Songs, Sexy, and Original Songs. He does give lip service to Klaine right afterwards in these same interviews, but it sounds more like backpedaling and indifferent tolerance than because he really likes it. Klainers interpret it as him being a Klaine shipper, but the he talks about them is frankly a little too mean-spirited, and it sounds like he's just taking a jab at them because he thinks they're fanatical and bitchy. From personal experience I'd say he's right and sadly quite a few of them really are. Seriously, they're worse than any of the other Glee sub-fandoms save maybe some of the Finn/Rachel/Jesse/Quinn ones.

I haven't seen any of his own stuff yet so I can't tell for sure, but Chris Colfer seems to have a pretty decent grasp of what makes good versus hack writing. He sneaks in a lot of jabs at the stupid shit or character inconsistencies that goes on with his character or the show in general, and it's stuff people have been criticizing elsewhere too. In that case I'd imagine if he had more input then maybe the show's preaching wouldn't backfire spectacularly as often.

I'm really curious as to whether any real gay people like Klaine or if it's mostly teenage girl yaoi fans who do. The gay guys I know (myself included) are mostly holding out/hoping for Sam (sweet, dorky, insecure sci-fi nerd) to be gay.

Someone on Tumblr did a Kurt S2 ships census which ended up along those lines. Kurt/Blaine fans are mostly in their late tweens to early teens while Kurt/Sam and Kurt/Karofsky fans are usually in the 18+ range. Also Blaine's "I love you" was the fakest thing I ever saw. I'd think he was lying if I didn't already know that he's just not a very good actor. And it was kind of rude of him to keep cutting Kurt off like that. Only thing I enjoyed at the end was the Sam/Mercedes scene which I thought was pretty sweet, even though I don't think they'll last very long, and something still seems off about Sam that makes me still wonder that he's bi/gay.

ME YES I DO. Karofsky is the reason I started watching Glee, and honestly, it's the only reason I'm still watching. Really, really hoping they don't fuck up his character (although at this point? who knows.)

In the last episode of Season Two, during the breakfast at Tiffany's scene, Kurt was planning with Rachel to move to New York together with Blaine to go to college and try to get onto Broadway. This theoretical move would only work if they were graduating at the same time.

So now my question is: how many of the kids in Glee right now are going to be Seniors and therefore theoretically leaving in Season Three? Because I thought that they were all sophomores in Season One.

Everyone but Blaine and Sam were juniors in season 2. Meaning everyone else graduates this upcoming season. They aren't really leaving, they're graduating. Meaning they wont be in season 4 because, come on, it's high school, not college and they're moving on to bigger and better things.

Besides, Chris has a lot going for him right now anyways. He's got his movie and his books and his new television show. So the only characters for season 4 would start with Blaine and Sam. No one knows what that could mean for Kurt and Blaine, maybe they break up before it or they'll do what they did with Holly and Will in that one episode where he was just seen on the phone with her and she wasn't on screen at all.

So they're graduating. It wouldn't make much sense for them to be on season 4 in a high school when they're in college.
