Fun Splash Mountain Facts:

It was originally called the Zip-a-Dee River Run, but Michael Eisner wanted it to cross promote the film Splash.

Many Imagineers dismissed a flume ride as too pedestrian for Disneyland, but finally conceded to the idea as a way to draw traffic to the forgotten Critter Country and make use of the animatronics from the faltering America Sings.

A version of Splash Mountain was considered for EuroDisneyland, based off of Pocahontas rather than Song of the South.

Kinect Disneyland Adventures marks the first time the Song of the South characters have been seen in CGI.

>Best Way To Defeat This Bad Habit: Stress Case relaxes once she gets moving around. If only she can get a little exercise she just might mellow out!

>Bio: An ex-opera star with a real flair for the dramatic, Stress Case worries over every detail until it takes over her life. >Narrator: From long ago, the humans and the forest lived peacefully together…Until the laws of the forests were broken.
>Writing: Born as princess…
>Queen Elinor: Listen here, Merida in order to be a proper Queen, you need refinement/elegance and endurance.

>Writing: Her name is Merida
>Merida: Please, let me meet the witch

(I can’t understand what that deep voice is saying, unfortunately)
>Queen Elinor: This is very sinister… The forest is making an uproar
>King Fergus: What on Earth is going on?
>Writing: The humans must follow the laws of the forest
>Random character: The law of the forest has been broken. This means war!
>Queen Elinor: What exactly did you do in the forest?
>Merida: This is all my fault…
>Queen Elinor: Long ago, the laws of the forest was broken by a Prince who used magic, and because of that the kingdom crumbled.
>Merida: Is this the forest’s curse?
>Merida: Help me!
>King Fergus: The time has come!
>Merida: I have to protect the kingdom.
>Witch: You won’t be able to reverse the curse once the sun comes up.

So, I've been out... any news on the publishing of The Incredibes by Disney? A few months ago they were gonna publish a City of Incredibles TP I think, so I got my hopes up for the conclusion of the last arc...

So apparently that Avatar at Disney World thing is starting to fall apart. James Cameron's Ego and desire for a Pandora that isn't screen based (including shooting down the idea of a Soarin with those dragon things concept) is one of the issues, plus with the Avatar sequels in development hell and the lukewarm to negative response to the idea, it might just shrivel up and die.

It's like Disney went through the artist departments of Nick and CN while they weren't looking and took them to make shows for them. Which is impressive. Maybe Disney might get Genndy to make a new show for them, and maybe Disney will be nice enough to give his show a proper ending for once, unlike CN.

Spector's said Epic Mickey 2's going to have voice-acting and a better camera.

http://mynintendonews.com/2012/03/16/epic-mickey-2-is-likely-to-be-multiplatform-and-will-feature-co-op-voice-acting-and-better-camera/

>I would definitely address player concerns about the camera. That was the number one complaint we heard, but I will defend to the death the quality of the work my camera team did on that first game; there is a whole GDC talk about that sometime, too. The camera in the first game was an amazing piece of work that people don’t appreciate. We took the hardest problem in gaming and then made it even harder through our game mechanics – which people don’t get – but we know we could do better. And so I would do that and I would do full voice. I mean I made a decision on the first game not to have characters speak. It was a mistake and I would fix that.

>Q: Maybe Nintendo will take you up on that advice for Zelda…

>Warren Spector: No that’s exactly why – There are two reasons why I didn’t do full voice. I mean the one is Oswald’s a silent film star, and if he can’t talk no one will. I thought that was funny. And I wanted not just to honor Disney history, but I wanted to honor the Zelda games, the Mario games, the Japanese RPGs that I love, none of which use full voice. But what I didn’t think through was these are Disney characters. No one expects Mario to talk, no one expects Link to talk. Everyone expects Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, the Mad Doctor… everybody expects those guys to talk and I let them down. So, we are going to fix that if we have ever do another game.
>> No. 167893

It'd be funny if they had an in-joke in the game about it.

"So Mickey. What do we do nex-"

"Wait you just talked!?"

"Whu? Yea I can talk."

"Wow. Sorry I just... didn't realize-"

"Yea well SOME OF US lived to be used past the 1920's!"

>player concerns about the camera. That was the number one complaint we heard

Whoa whoa whoa, stop right the fuck there. The number one complaint was that ALL of the hype for the game came from the awesome concept art and the idea of having a more edgy take on the Mouse (Which Specter even admitted early on that the game would have) and everyone was let down because none of that actually happened. True, concept art is usually not like the final product, but that doesn't change the fact that it's what EVERYONE was interested in. All because Disney is too chickenshit to "ruin their image".

I can agree to this but also add that the gameplay just wasn't very fun. Shameless cut and dry fetch quests, the 2D segments that you couldn't skip over in between new areas, how painting something didn't stay painted when you came back, the attack mechanic was kind of sluggish, same with the actual platforming that didn't feel fully in control with the Wiimote, boss battles were also kind of lousy, etc. The camera and the concept art's tone was not the only problem.

I still feel Kingdom Hearts is a much better Disney franchise. Frankly I think its the best videogame series that carries the Disney name.
