I think equating rape to thievery is as bad as equating rape to love. With art, you're putting forth a product to be ostensibly consumed by the masses. Yes, you are trying to make money off it, but by the same token you are putting it out to be digested, and if someone steals it, well, tough cookie but you can produce more while they're forced to keep stealing. If you consider the target of the crime, rape is more akin to kidnapping, but I'm not sure how you'd rework the quote for that.
