Anybody who finds themselves in Michigan this October/November should come to Youmacon. It's the only con I know of that I'm pretty sure I"ll be going to, as it's far away enough that I can plan everything out and with every other con I only find out about them like a week before they're happening.

Anyone in or around Denver? Going to a con at any point? There's an anime con in the fall, I think, not sure what else is going on.

Hmm. I've been to meet ups with other internet folk, but it can be hard to coordinate times, places and availability if you're just talking about hanging out, drinking and gaming, etc.

A con would be ideal for a meetup but they're mostly on the coasts. I imagine most of us are in the midwest, if american, and the rest are international. A con would really be the best pl;ace to wake up.

Contrary to popular belief, there are lots of cons that aren't on the coasts! Places like GenCon, Anime Central, and Chicago Comic Con. You can find lists of cons on wikipedia (that's how I'm finding new places to sell hahaha.)

It's a pretty nice venue with a bunch of stuff to do (so much so that I always forget a section of the con exists) but it's reaaally crowded and it's sometimes hard to get into events (waited in line for 3 hours for one room last year). I always have a good time, but it's cause of the people there.

I haven't been to any big comiccons, so Ota's the biggest I've been to, if all of that is just standard at big cons.... :I

there are times where I love the convention just for the sake of the convention.

last year there was a line to go into the harry potter/green lantern panel, there was a big ass line of people, all mixed up fandoms, green lantern boys talking to griffindoor girls and just a pleasant time had by all.
