+ I think that in Season 2, there will be a road trip episode or two with the Krew. That way the writers can take them out of Republic City and put them in a different setting, like the South Pole on a visit to Korra's parents. That way we can see city slickers like Bolin and Mako in a non-cosmopolitan setting, and see the brothers react to being treated as a Fire National or an Earth Kingdomer rather than a United Republican (URNer? Unionist?), or gain an insight in how Tenzin's branch of the family deals with his more Water Tribe-y relatives.

I hope this sort of thing happens. ATLA had a few "anti-Avatar" moments like that one town that was all "herp derp Kyoshi killed our town hero" but it was pretty limited. Having to deal with people questioning the very role of the Avatar at all would be good development for Korra. Plus, I notice that a lot of the setting of LoK is about constraining the role of bending to minimize damage. I think the reason why all the cops are metalbenders is because it's a way to have Earthbending without tearing huge boulders out of the streets and walls of a city (cue Beifong yelling "Stop blowing holes in my city!"), as opposed to a lot of the Earthbending in ATLA that took place on big empty expanses or natural formations.
