I'm gonna fanboy/have some faith in Mike and Bryan and say that I highly doubt that Korra's gonna be 100% conformed to the rough and tumble, outdrink you and bang your mom super-aggressive woman. She's probably going to be a lot like Suki and Katara in the sense that she'll conform to some feminine qualities and subvert others, the difference this time being that Korra will ascribe to a higher number of masculine roles/qualities (or perhaps she'll ascribe to more extreme ones or simply different ones) than any other previous character.
I will say this, though. "Lad-ettes" as the term goes are not often the main character of a series. They're usually secondary or side-characters, and going by some franchises, they tend to get killed off. Avatar had what some jackasses critics would call "Girl Power" or "Action Girl" types, but they weren't specifically very masculine. Kim Possible, most of The Sailor Senshi, or the girls of the Teen Titans cartoon would also be examples.
A Lad-ette would probablly be characters like Misato from Evangelion, or Reby from Black Lagoon, (maybe Susan Strong from Adventure Time, I don't know that for sure, I haven't seen her episodes.) I'll worry about more examples later, I don't wanna cheat and go on TVTropes to get a list, but straight out, none of them are main characters, and Legend of Korra's breaking molds in that regard.
